Hi Everyone,

I recently unearthed my smurf collection which has been gathering dust in boxes for some many years now.

I was wondering if somebody to direct me to a site or something of the sort which would help me to catalogue them so as I know what is what and who is who and so on.

I also seem to have a few odds and ends which I am unsure as to whether they are authentic smurf bits or not. Fences, benches - that kind of thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am currently working on a checklist for this site which will include lots of different areas such as the fences, buildings and other items but I can help you with any other ones that you are having trouble with or are not sure about....so feel free to ask anytime.

Are you planning on selling them or are you keeping your collection? If you are selling then I may be interested in buying some or all of them but if you want to hang onto them then I can help you with anything you need so just ask me or post any questions here or even send me a private message and I would be glad to help you in any way I can.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the welcome and the links. They're already a huge help and I'm well on the way to sorting out this collection of mine.

Dyar - I haven't really decided whether to collect them or sell them. I don't really want to start adding to the collection as I don't think I have the time to put into doing it properly - that said however - I don't want to part with the whole lot as a few have sentimental value to me. If there was any inpaticular you saw that you really want - PM me and let me know.

Once I can catalogue them properly etc. I will put a list up (is there somewhere appropriate on the forum?) and then I can go from there.

I'll get all my fences and houses and bits and pieces together and get a pic up soonish. I also have a smurf car but no smurf in it - I'm sure one of these guys is feeling the loss!

Hi Grizz, welcome aboard.
Firstly you have a fine little collection with some nice smurfs. I am assuming you have had these for quite a while, think carefully before you sell them, especially if they have sentimental value. Once they are gone, they are gone, six months down the line and you decide you want to collect them again......... I am only joking, it is just many of us here did exactly what you have done and found our old collections gathering dust in the attic and the next thing you know........ wham...... addiction sets in.

If you still need help indentifying anything, I have a collection site Blue Imps with lots of smurf photos to check.

If you do decide to sell them you can post your list in the Smurfing Boot Sale section.

Hi guys,

Well...I made the big decision. After cruising countless sites identifying whose who and what not - I've decided that I'll start building up my collection.

Quite a few of mine are rubbed (heh heh I learnt that word just recently!) but thats ok as I figure I can start with what I have and go from there.

I still have a few which I cannot ID - I'll post some pics of them some time tonight and hopefully you guys can help me out somewhat.

I've been watching Ebay like a hawk and will start bidding soon - see guys I'm learning!

I also have lots of doubles and triples of some - should I be posting these in the carboot forum for trade?

Also, how do I know what is a more 'hard to come by' smurf as opposed to one which is not so hard to come by?

Sorry for all the questions! We all have to start somewhere I guess.

I also found 3 plush smurfs I had packed away - one huge one and 2 smaller ones - one normal and one papa smurf! That was a bonus!!

Welcome to the mad place!! If you've sussed the carrot problem out then you're halfway there!!

The best guide for values is the Der Schlumpf katalog IV but the downside is shipping to Australia is not cheap.

Here is an example of a page of the catalogue. If you don't want to rush into getting one of these then most of us have a copy and can look a few things up for you.

I'm really glad you decided to hang onto your smurfs. They are so much fun and I think belonging to a forum makes a big difference as we have so much fun here.

The values are applicable to a smurf in mint condition so obviously if they have rubs then this devalues them quite a bit, more so if they are common. If they are rare then I don't think people are going to worry so much about rubs, they will just be glad to get the smurf! Ebay is a good place for bargains. If you look at the prices in my shop then you will find these are mainly similar to book value, some may be slightly different depending on how easy it is for me to get hold of the smurf in question. So I guess if you are looking for a bargain look on ebay, double check what price it is in my shop (mine are mint) and make sure you don't bid higher than my shop price. If you go over my shop price (assuming I have the item in stock) then you are paying too much. You can do a search in the shop (just don't put the word smurf in the seach box or it throws a wobbly). Also there is a link to a printable stock list at the bottom of the page but it gobbles printer ink!

I'll have to go thru mine all over again now!! Some of them are in perfect condition - some - not so perfect.

I have half a dozen of the ones on stands (smurf a grams?) which I cannot seem to find anywhere - if I post some pics of them would some kind person please ID them for me please?

Also - which forum is appropriate for me to do this in?

I'll get my hands on one of those catalogue thingies once funds allow.

I'm already talking to my other half about setting up a display cabinet for my blue pals heh heh

I'm madly photographing the ones I cannot identify now to post.

You'll all be horrified over the condition of a few of them tho

Never mind the condition, the only judo smurf I have has half of his hat bitten off... They were toys, and their bad condition prove they were good toys
And you seem to have a very good headstart on the smurfagrams, they are a nice specialisation inside a collection. Most of us collect all Smurfs (Schleich and Bully, I mean), and specialize in one or two areas (promo's, fakes, grams, rugby players, rollerskate smurfettes, rohlinge, ...). It's the only way for most of us to keep the number of smurfs and the amount of money we spend on them under control.
I'm glad you decided to start collecting instead of selling them. I recently saw an auction which said 'you can buy my childhood' while selling smurfs, and that was so sad (and pathetic!)

One of mine has his hat half chewed off too! We breed dogs so its inevitable that things sometimes get chewed. They're in a safe place now so that won't happen again!
