I WAS WONDERING HOW YOU CLEAN SMURFS THAT ARE DIRTY?? IS THERE A SMURF CLEANING SOLUTION AVAILABLE, OR IS IT YOUR OWN HOME REMEDY??? AND WHEN CLEANING YOUR SMURFS, DOES THE PAINT WERE OFF OR CHIP/PEAL????? OR DOES IT CREATE MORE WEAR AND TEAR???????? WOULD LOVE TO KNOW.

I usually give mine a good soak in soap solution (usually washing powder solution) and most of the dirt comes off easily

There should be no danger to the paint unless you are too rough with them or they are fakes..I never had the paint come off mine

Hi Gary, firstly I must apologise as I had to remove a couple of your pics are they are clearly copyrighted by BlueBuddies.

The way I generally clean my smurfs is with a soft toothbrush, normal liquid soap and warm water. This will get most general grime and dirt off. There are more specialised cleaners for things like ink and such but these are a lot stronger and may effect the paint if not carefully used.

I do the same as you Rach.....water and toothbrush mainly but I also have a skewer nearby too as these are very effective in getting dirt out of the hard to reach spots like under the pointy bit of the hat or in the grooves which are also on the hat or right between the legs or under the armpits. Sometimes a toothbrush just can't effectively get to places as well so skewers have come in very handy for me.

Other than that I have never used any other type of cleaning product in the last few years and I haven't had any need to seek other alternatives.

I sometimes I use a toothbrush on myself...great for cleaning those chompy things in your mouth I think.

With some Paint stripper and a blow torch



NOOO!!!...seriously i find some mild green stuff (other washing up liquids are available)..and warm water do the trick on most grime/dust..just leave them to soak for a little while first,then all the dirt (hold on a minute---why hasn`t the seller cleaned them first?? ) will come off with no trouble at all.

One thing with soaking smurfs (as I have done in the past) is to make sure you check the smurfs for stickers (like the made in Hong Kong Painted in Sri Lanka one for example) which came off a smurf I soaked. I know that sounds kind of silly but worth remembering if you are planning on soaking.
