Thanks Tojo :D
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

The smurf in the DSK with the blue tube without lines is IMO a fake or at least a CNT
I agree, Cheesy...You ever can see the red painture ...Mine has a lost of painture and you can see white colour below (we have always the chance that it is a white tube but repainted, but I am sure this is not the case...I know too much the selelr and not be able to lie to me) and markings are Schleich, Peyo 79, WGermany

Hope it helps
JOAQUÍN

I don't mean to be a stick in the mud but can I ask everybody what proof do we have that this variation actually exists?

I hope this is a real smurf as it does look cool but I have not seen any evidence to prove that this is a real variation and wondered if anyone else has as maybe I could learn something that I wasn't aware of previously.

Once again I am no expert on this smurf and just wanted to question it as we always should do I think.

I hope no one takes offence at my question as I am sincerely asking here.

Thank you

Dyar

Thank you for asking the question, Dyar, as you were asking what I wanted to ask but didn't dare

@THE muddy stick aeehmm I meant dyar :o ...
In this case I'm 100% sure that this variation is a real one. From Steves smurfs I have some closeup pics from seller and everything is matching 100 % and I bought my one on in a lot from a childhood toy-collection. Also the other blue one from our dental specialist is the same.
So they are not coming from powersellers, they are coming from different locations and the markings and the colors are matching...

My problem is...we should remove such closeup pics from the website otherwise the fakers will do some repaint jobs with the help of this website :-? Ok just kidding but only to 70%

at the end I'mhappy with this smurf.... that's the most important thing :)

having scrutinised this smurf, I am 100% happy Dyar that he is a real variation..the blue is NOT painted over a red tube (I can see some of the raw color underneath) also all 3 that exist so far have EXACTY the same markings. If I manage to get to Belgium I'll bring him along to show everyone first hand

Hi guys,

I agree it is always better to question any different smurf that we come across rather than just assuming it is real. The fact we have now seen 3 of these with identicle markings and stripes and bought in large lots does give a good indication. Obviously it would be fantastic if we could come across this variation with blue tube in an official catalogue or on an old poster. Keep yours open guys to see if we can find one. :D

Hi Cheesy, it might be a good idea to remove the markings now that it has been confirmed they are the same. Anyone else think this?

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

I agree with removing the pictures.
I have some very close-ups of the bellringer and the toy sack super-rare smurfs, sent to me by a German seller more than one year ago.
I was not sure and still I'm not sure if they are real or not, so these pictures must stay hidden from view.

I think this is the type of "proof" Dyar is asking about...not whether you think it is a real variation because more than one person has it but if it can be seen somewhere officially :D This is probably before Cheesy's time here (if not, I do apologize!) but the example I am thinking of is Sven always listed his auctions as being from a childhood collection but the paint was still fresh on the smurfs :banghead: :o Removing reference to the markings or the pics on this thread would be good - I do think a lot of the fakers can easily find our site for some nice "rare" ideas.

Okay, I've edited out my markings and also taken away the larger picture..I still believe him to be a real variation..what are the odds of 3 turning up in different parts of the world, from different sellers in odd smurf lots and all to be the same markings? I have looked at my smurf and can see no evidence of fakery..but I guess it's easy for me to say that as I have the smurf in my hands.

Well I have no proof, but believe it to be real :D - but this is probably because I've seen 2 of them this year on UK auctions and both were in collections with only old smurfs :-?

(And there did used to be a toothpaste available with a blue stripe around the time this smurf first came out - until of course they soon added the 3rd colour ( ''3 in one protection for your famiiillly'' :) I'm am purely speculating :) :) )

ok, here is Mosey again with one of her stupid question, but if I don't ask I won't know.... :banghead:

Was it Schleich that came up with the different color variations? and only released a few 100 or less of them making them that rare?
I have often wondered how these different and rare color variations came into existence...Don't get me wrong..I love them...I would love to have a few of them myself and probably wouldn't even mind if they are fake if I don't have to spend a lot of money on them (I hope I didnt' shock anybody)...

I just wondered why Schleich released them (if they did) and if they knew how much they would be worth when they did, as I imagine they released them back in the 70s or 80s when smurfs probably weren't that much worth :-?

I am obviously aware that there are certain variations that were released only in certain countries making them rarer in other countries, so I don't mean these...I am speaking about variations such as this toothbrush, the blue Captain and others I can't think off right now

I am not even sure I am making sense here :?
