Hi all,

I have two newbie questions about the Dupuis smurfs. (Yes newbie...I just colelcting 2 1/2 year )......

I got my Papa Dupuis yesterday and he has no marking at all at the head. There is the hole for the key ring but no markings.
All other Dupuis have the the marking "DUPUIS" on the head. Is this one a fake or has the Papa no marking at all ?

And the second question is .... I just saw that a second variant of the Dupuis smurfs is existing. Three Dupuis smurfs (Normal, Angry, Gold) are existing with glyphes on the back of the head. That are the glyphes from the prisoner mold. So are these overpainted fakes or is this a variant...
And also I saw a prisoner without glyphes.. one additional variant..

So at all except the Papa Dupuis I saw a molding variant to each Dupuis smurf... right ???

Hi Cheesy,

You are right about the mold of the prisoner but painted as papa, normal, gold or blacksmurf. Those really excist and are no fakes.

And about the Dupuis with or without the Dupuis on the head....
There are 2 differents with the Dupuis on the head and without.
So your papa is a genuin one.

Congrats with them, it's always nice when you have different variations.

Hi Cheesy, Thanks for asking the questions as I know very little about this set of Dupuis smurfs although I would love to own them one day. All information about them is very helpful.

Thanks for the excellent answers and info Michelle. Now I know a LOT more about these smurfs and what to look out for.

I think we have to recalculate a bit.... papa is a bit different so

4 X times normal mold and marking : Angry, Normal, Gold, Prisoner
4 X times normal mold and no marking : Angry, Normal, Gold, Prisoner
4 X times prisoner mold and marking : Angry, Normal, Gold, Prisoner
4 X times prisoner mold and no marking : Angry, Normal, Gold, Prisoner
1 X times papa mold and marking : Papa
1 X times papa mold and no marking : Papa

So it's 18.

But this weekend someone told me it's also possible with the marking 'DUPUI' without 'S'....

SO I think we have to count 5 more
And then the total makes 23.

To help debating...

I have 1 papa, no marking
I gold, prisoner mold, marking Dupui
1 gold, normal mold, marking Dupui
1 normal, normal mold, marking dupui
2 normal, normal mold, no marking...

Oh yes you've helped.

So instad of 23 we recalculate again....

The 18 I've mentioned are correct, but now we have to add:

1x papa, Dupui
4 X times normal mold and marking Dupui : Angry, Normal, Gold, Prisoner
4 X times prison mold and marking Dupui: Angry, Normal, Gold, Prisoner

So 18+9= 27...
