Wow, I looked at Graham's smurf village off the web and thought it looked pretty good, especially the stuff used for grass (what is it?)
But, hey, are gabled, walk-in attics the norm in Europe? On the Playmobil site, half the people with displays have them in their attic, with the walls slanting up and together (gabled?).
American houses mostly don't have attics any more (we had a huge attic in a 1920s house in Ohio, but even then the ceiling slant was much more gradual). The space near the ceiling nowadays are crawl-in places for boxes or insulation. The slope of the ceiling is usually disguised from the inside of the house.
Er, continental architecture probably isn't the hot topic of the day, but....
