Gawd, some kid posted a nastygram on the Playmobil forum in which he said he'd rather be "shagging" than playing Playmobil.

In response, a quarter of the forum freaked out.

(Heh, it's funny to me because "shag" means nothing in the USA, except a type of carpet (shag carpet, due to the long fibers, from "shaggy"))

The responses to the young fly-by-night:

"Children might be reading this post!" "Administrator, Delete this thread!" A few kind souls even tried to reason with the kid. "Is this you, or your friends talking?"

WE SMURF COLLECTORS MAY BE FRUITCAKES, BUT AT LEAST WE HAVE A LAUGH ADMITTING IT.

Gawd, the playmobil crowd! The history talk and customizing feats are pretty interesting. But, pity the poor fool who tries to joke around. They'd probably be trying to kick Smurfing Beer off because somebody read somewhere that you can catch transvestitism on-line, like herpes, but worse.

Erh, excuse me. We here at the smurf community have no sense of humour that I am aware of!

I have to admit, I did have a laugh when I read your post Tim. I am afraid, the playmobile collectors sound a little more serious than us lot here. Do they not realise they are collecting kiddies toys and with this there has to be some level of insanity. :grinning:

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Guys I just thought I run this by you:
Web definition of in·san·i·ty (ĭn-sān'ĭ-tē) Pronunciation Key n. pl. in·san·i·ties

1. Mental illness or derangement. No longer in scientific use.
So technically, there is no such thing as insanity?

2. Law:
a) Unsoundness of mind sufficient in the judgment of a civil court to render a person unfit to maintain a contractual or other legal relationship or to warrant commitment to a mental health facility.
b) In most criminal jurisdictions, a degree of mental malfunctioning sufficient to relieve the accused of legal responsibility for the act committed.
c)Extreme foolishness; folly.
d)Something that is extremely foolish.
Ok, I admit: I am not responsible...
3.
a) Extreme foolishness; folly.
b) Something that is extremely foolish.
Why is 2c and 2d the same as 3a and 3b... it sounds a little "insane" :-?

Oh and another:
insanity

noun
relatively permanent disorder of the mind
Relative to what? :-?

So let me read this back to you:

Insanity is technically something which is no longer accepted by the scientific community but still valid in a court of law to deal with relatively extreme foolish things linked to a relative mental disposition...

Ok... I feel better now. For a second I thought I was normal... but THAT would be insane!

My eyes just went all blurry reading that last sentence!!!

Is it possible that I am "insane"...but then I wouldn't exist anymore... :-?

There was an old insane chap who once said something along the lines of:

"To be or not to be..."
