Hi everyone,

I just got news that one of my students that I taught for 4 years died in a car crash yesterday morning. He was the only child in his family so I am feeling so much for his parents right now.

Anyway...here's my tribute to him...

Ben...you cracked me up for 4 years.
Your lack of dedication towards music practice was a constant annoyance,
but your dedication towards missing class to come to your lesson with me made me smile.
You made orchestra and music tours a blast,
even though you infuriated me so,
underneath I was always laughing,
and you knew that,
I could tell by your smirk.
Good luck with your future,
now you can fly with the rest of them.

Terrible news Rennee..big hugs to you and his parents
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Thanks guys...I have gotten my head around it a bit more now...I don't normally pour out tributes for all to see. I was by myself when I got the call so I was a bit lost...

It's just so important to give your loved ones an extra hug the next time they leave...I always do...because of things like this. And never leave each other grumpy...that's another big one.

I feel so much for his parents who would have received the news in the middle of the night (it happened at 2am) from a total stranger telling them that their only child had just died on a empty highway, by himself. How do you deal with that?

My husband says I analyse these things too much...I probably do...but my heart just breaks for the loved ones who have to pick up their lives after such a loss. I can't even begin to know the pain they must be feeling.

Thanks again guys...your words mean alot!!!

Hi Renee,

I was very sorry to read your sad news.

Your tribute is beautiful and I suppose, because I do the same job as you, I can relate to it that little bit more. He sounded like so many of my own pupils and they are all so special to me too.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you today. :rose:

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

I feel very much for them as well and it hits close to home for me as one of my best friends from college who was an only child died in a car accident in the middle of the night as well. Eight years later doesn't make it any easier on her parents or family or friends. My heart and prayers go out to his family :rose: That was a nice tribute, Renee
