After a full five years of being seperated from my wife, tomorrow I get to
go and sign the divorce papers. And no, she does not get any of my Smurfs.

That is almost funny Smurfsterocks. When my wife and I divorced I actually left all the Smurfs for them because I had bought them for my step daughter. I gave them the house to live in and all they had to do is make the payments (first year only half) They never paid anything. It took me 6 months to find out that they were not paying and another 6 months to get them out of the house. When I finally got it back the Smurfs were still boxed up in the basement where we had left them. I hauled them around for about 10 years then discoverd you could still get them and they were still being produced and got back into collecting.

That's good to hear you got your Smurfs back.
As for me there is no children involved. If not,
I probably would have done the same.

I'm very glad she doesn't get your smurfs or your beautiful kitties! My uncle went through a nasty divorce recently and he is also now free. Just the house to sell and all monies sorted and he's clear. Their children are grown up so that's not such an issue. He's now living in Spain where he works as a Buddy Holly tribute act. If only I could train him to find smurfs! He says all he can find is Betty Boop! :-?

I bet you'll be celebrating once those papers are signed!

Thanks Everyone.

Okay, I was so tired yesterday I didn't get a chance to get on the
computer. I want to correct myself when I said five years, it was actually
six years since we have been separated. You know you can't count on
man to remember anything. LOL!

We met up yesterday before we went to sign the divorce papers and had
a discussion. We agreed to getting a divorce on "Mutual Agreement" base
on "You get nothing and go that way and I'll get nothing and go this way."
We went down and signed our butts away. Now hopefully the divorce will
be finalized in 40 days, considering we don't have to present ourselves in
front of the Judge in court. It actually went so smooth, I took her out to
dinner afterward. We had a great time and then I went home.

I was puzzled a little about all this that she did not ask me for the one
thing she ask me six years ago when we decided to go our separate ways,
and I had refuse to give it to her, "The Armani Giuseppe Snow White
Porcelain Statue". Now retired and worth over $1,000. So when the
divorce is finalized I'm just considering to give to her as a divorce present.

That is a beautifull piece and I like the idea of you giving it to her. Its nice to see it wasnt a nasty divorce, better for both of you that way (my opinion)

Mentally and financially. So just because she was such a peach I would also give her the statue. I never really had a bad divorce. But I have seen a few. My first time I was in the Air force and couldn't get here, so my lier took care of it for me. (lawyer) The second I took care of myself and it was also easy. I didn't really ask for anything from her and neither did she. I did have my Lawyer draw up a lease for her to get my house. I made 1/2 of the payment the first year and she was supposed to make the other 1/2. Then she was to make all the payment until the house was paid for and at that time I was to sign it over to her. She didn't make any payments at all and by the time I found out she hadden't paid it took me 6 months to get her out of the house. Cost me a pretty penny to get the bank to work with me but I got it done.

I have dated other women since my separation but nothing serious.
I think it's time to find me a Smurfette again, LOL!

You gonna be like Chevy Chase in the new show. Him and the other star in the show are sitting on the steps and Chevy says (I have been married and Divorced 6 times, I think I must be doing something wrong). The other guy turns to him and says (You keep getting married). :) :) :)
Chevy says I never looked at it like that.
P.S. The name of the show is Community. And the other actor is Joe Mchale.
