Snowing again here too. In fact it is worse than yesterday and all my schools have been shut.
Hey Rachel...a long weekend for you then :woohoo: Just been listening to the weather forecast and they are saying that Wales and Birmingham are experiencing severe weather conditions with warnings to not go anywhere...so it looks like a weekend in for you...a few DVDs, the dogs, hubbie and a few bottles of vino....ENJOY :cheerz:

Snowing here again but only a little :snowing:

OK, I commented on my car making things a little tricky yesterday....

Well, tonight, I couldn't get out of the car park at work. It is on a slight incline and I couldn't get up it. Our security man was gritting under my wheels but I gave up in the end - after one hour. Got a lift ("ride" for the Americans here) half way home and walked the rest. Took me 3 hours to get home - about 12 miles.

My car is now stranded at work. My own fault for having an impractical car I guess. It's great fun in the Summer though :-D

I don't care, I still love the snow. :snowdance:

Sorry to hear about your car problems and long journey home Mark. Good to hear you made it safely though. :-D

Watching the news Today, it looks like there were a lot of travel problems. I know it took my brother 7 hours to do a journey that should have normally taken him 2 1/2.

Even though our roads were a bit slower than normal, I think I managed to beat the worst of it and got home at lunchtime. Luckily I have got a 4x4 as I was on quite high ground when I decided to call it a day and the hill down was a bit slippery. Fun though! :driver: :scared:

7 hours :???: That's a loooooong journey.

I find driving in the snow fun too, except when I can't get going :) :)

Ha ha, I had to read that twice as I imagined him gritting his teeth under your wheels & I thought he must be a really nice chap to lie down so that that your tyres get a better grip. :) :) I hope he's not still lying there :)

we had snow again tonight..the garden looks so pretty just like out of a scene from the snowman :)
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Great stories, everybody.....I am glad to hear a lot of us had some lasting snow....(not just the one that disappears when you are back home :( :( :) :) )

I have been listening to Founder's week on Moody radio this week, which is broadcasted from Chicago...apparently they had record lows this week even for Chicago....even the river froze

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Christy and Rachel.....It looks like you both live in beautiful areas on this earth.... :D

the picture of Duplo reminded me of one of my dogs (Shyone) :) :) she would always dive into the snow with her nose first :) :) :)

Did you hear about the 100+inches of snow they are getting in upstate New York??
Officials expected up to 14 inches of snow overnight, a trend that would push the seven day total beyond 100 inches and continue through the weekend.

I have just seen the news showing the snow in New York!!

That is something else. I love snow but I think would be even too much for me. It puts our 3 inches to shame! :yikes:

Since I have been feeling left out of the snow capers....I wanted to happily post that my freezer was all frosty last night and when I woke up and cheked this morning it was all still there....unlike the ice that someone forget to refill this morning :o

I will report back on the freezer conditions later tonight and see if I can give a forecast for the week....there is a bit of ice cream around but I get the feeling that will clear by the time I get home. :???:

Well, we got our first real snowstorm of the year last night...and it is nasty out....well nasty to drive in! We got 2+ inches of snow, then overnight an additional inch of ice that made everything nice and slick. Pretty much everything is closed (except my work LOL) but I took some pics while taking a break outside. Oh, and it's just started snowing again!

Our poor secretary's car got stuck coming into our driveway...she managed to drive the 20 minutes here with no problem and then couldn't get in...we had to have a plow come and dig her out. After 2 hours she was out of the road and into the drive
:sillyme:
