Great pics Christy, I love the one with you and Duplo but they are all lovely to see.
Well, I ended up having a very interesting day...........
I was listening to the local radio station this morning hoping to hear that my schools had been closed but unfortunately very few schools were closed and it turned out that even though we had snow, most of the area where I teach had not.
For the first time ever, I decided to give the station a ring to tell them that our village had in fact had quite a bit of snow as they were reporting that no where around had had much snow and were sounding very disappointed.
I was extremely suprised that firstly anyone actually answered my call and then even more suprised when they asked if they could ring me back in a few minutes to talk to me live on air. A few minutes later, they did indeed ring back and I had a great conversation with the two DJ's about how much snow we had and they even got me to walk around in it holding my phone near my feet so they could hear the crunching snow! They were both really nice and we had a laugh at the fact that I was working just around the corner from where the radio station is and that there was no snow there at all. They even mentioned me bringing them some snow and I jokingly said I would throw a snowball at them as I passed.
Anyway, as I was clearing the car Rich mentioned that I should fill up our cooler box with snow and deliver it to them. Bearing in mind, I had never even dared to phone in before now, I thought this might be a bit mad. I did though fill the box, stuck it in the car and thought I would have a think about it as I drove to work.
The drive to work was quite strange because where we live was completely white and the roads were a bit tricky but within 15 minutes of driving down the valley, there was no snow to be seen.
As I got to the place where my first school is and the radio station is situated, I thought "what the hell" and went to the radio station complete with my cooler box full of snow. I had no idea what would happen when I got there but my general thought was that I would see the receptionist, dump the snow somewhere and scoot off to school.
In fact, I ended up in the actual studio with the two DJ's and did another little live slot explaining how much snow we had and where I was from. They both thought it was brilliant and were really chuffed that I had turned up.
As I was about to leave after having a little chat with them, I mentioned that I was a smurf collector and would there be any chance of them mentioning Blue Imps at some point to see if any listeners had smurfs looking for a new home. We then had another great chat, this time about smurfs and it turns out that one of the DJs' husbands lived in Belgium for a while and was at the time really into smurfs.
They seemed really interested and have asked if it okay to give me a ring tomorrow morning so they can chat to me live on air about smurfs!
We will have to wait and see if they do get back to me but at least I have given it a go.
Our camera ran out of batteries but here are a couple of pics of this morning's snow and the a pic of what our garden looked like this afternoon when I got home from work.
