I got 3 new smurfs from my mother today.

And in front of them are the raw ones of grey wool. After this she takes coloured wool and starts working them with a needle until they look like smurfs. I don´t know the english word for this handcraft, but when I look it up it says fulling or feltmaking???? Is fulling correct?

This papa has a beard like a real sheep instead of white wool.

The sheeps at my wifes sister got their first lamb 2 days ago. They will get 60-70 lambs this year depending on how well the male one achieved last year. :) We will visit her next week and take a look at them.

It could be many smurf from the wool. :-D

Lambs smells so nice. :) And are so soft. :D

I'm not sure what the correct term in English for this craft is, Andre. If I find out I will let you know. :D

My wifes parents was farmers before they retired and now her sister is taking over the farm. But her mother still have hens. A couple of years ago we always borrowed a few hens during the summer and gave them back before the winter started. But because of the birdvirus a few years ago we stopped with this.

This year we are going to take home a few small chickens for the children to take care of. But there was no hen who wanted to "sit on the eggs" so we can´t get them before easter. We will get them later this spring instead.

When Edina was smaller she was crazy about these hens. Picking them up and carrying them around all the time. We had to let her know that she could not take them inside. :)

Here is a picture of her with one of them. One of the best pictures of Edina we have I think.

André those are amazing smurfs!
Your mother is a true artist!
I'm not normally for plush smurfs, as I rarely think they look nice (proportion wise mostly) thus not being much interested in them, but your mom's are just awsome and they do look just right! :-D

Any chance she'll make me a King? I'm in love with him! :smitten: :smitten:
I'm in no hurry, so at her own time. :D

No problem.

I will ask her. But I don´t want to rush her. She does these when she wants to and has the time. I will let you know when I get one.

The nice things about these 3 and the big one is that it is wire inside.

Therefore they can stand up by themselves. I don´t think many of the plushsmurfs can do that??? And of course they are 100% wool ( exept for the wire :) ), therefore I guess they will look the same 40 years from now. I don´t think wool gets older in the same way as the newer fabrics with these synthetic "plastic" content. I guess maybe Joaquin knows how these material will look like 40-50 years from now?? :) :-? Personally I has always liked the natural material, like wood, stone, mud-bricks when I build things. Then you can be pretty sure not to get any nasty surprises like with asbest, plasticpaints etc. :D

But wool has been used by humans as long as there has been sheeps. So I would say it is a pretty "safe" material. :)

I got 2 new ones from my mother today.

I think the Smurfette looks like a lovely smurf lady.

Could be Mama Smurf.

Since I gave the Papa smurf to Gerda I think I have to "force" her to take this Mama smurf also. I actually think they should belong together. :D
