I was just wondering if anyone here has seen this cowboy smurf before and knows anything about it. I emailed the seller but got no reply. Heres the info given in the item description:
Two Vintage Smurf Plastic Figures Smurf & Smurfet
Up for bid are two vintage Smurf figures from the early 80's. You have Smurf as a Cowboy and Smurfet as a Pilgram showing off her cherry pie?
It looks to me as if its made from plaster or something of the sort just from the look on the base but the seller does say two "plastic figures". I've never seen one before and would be interested to know what it is.

I think it's the infamous Cherry Pie Popper Cowboy Smurf....but I could be wrong

Does it have any markings?

It could be a homemade smurf too

Interesting smurf Linda, I don't think I have seen one like him before either.

If he is made out of plaster then he could be a homemade or even from a kit as there were quite a few plaster cast sets around for smurfs. The paint job looks of good quality though. :D

Thanks a lot, Margaret. It'd be great to find out more about it.

Maureen, I had at first thought maybe it was a candy topper too. I compared sizes of my candy toppers and smurfs and came to the conclusion its a bit small. I also looked right through all of baboune's candy toppers and couldn't see it there.

Dyar, I asked the seller if it had any markings and if it was indeed made of plastic or if it was made from ceramic or something similar but the auction ended and the seller didn't bother replying.

Anyway just thought someone here might know. I don't even particularly like the smurf or anything but once you get interested in finding out about something you just want to get as much info as possible.

Thanks everyone for their help. :D

This little cowboy is a ceramic smurf, no markings on them. They are from a paint your own and go with the lighted village

Here is a link to my ceramic page, the small figures are towards the bottom and as you can see I have a unpainted verstion. So I suppose you will never see two that are exactly allike as it goes by the painters imagination.

Gerda

ps.. thanks Linda for the pm or I would have missed this thread :D :D
