HI! everyone!
I finally received my blue smurf with silver
thanks for finding him for me,
I was hoping he was a nice fake, but now I am
puzzled, as he says Peyo, Dupuis on the back of his head,
he is 15 cm tall
anyone know more about this? is he a Dupuis??? or a fake Dupuis?

Hi Attom
He looks like one of my squeak toys on my this
page but not exactly. The size would be about right and the hands (one hand open the other reveresed) so possibly it was one of the squeak toys but it's one that I haven't got yet. It looks liek he may of been painted silver too for some reason.
I have squeak toys with Peyo, Dupuis markinsg as well but I keep finding the same type of squeak toys with either different markings or no markings at all compared to the original ones I had which are exactly the same...the latest is the Papa Smurf one from Petra (which she held up at the station so I would recognise her). This one had markings and the older one I had didn't have any. Either way it looks like a squeak toy to me that has been painted silver....what do you think?

hi Dyar
I've tried to search around for a similar one like mine, but so far no luck.
its made from a celluloid type plastic, and has no squeeky , and can't be
squeezed. the silver looks original, I will have to take a photo of him
as the photo I posted is from the auction and not that great.
he is similar to one on our site, which I also own, but his mouth, eyes
and material is completely different as those are more vinly like.

If you look at that page of mine again there is a Shy Smurf with no markings that isn't actually a squeak smurf. It's made of harder plastic or something and can't be squeezed either. I didn't really know where to put him but included him in with the others because he has the same design and height etc. I wonder if your one is the same as this one as it definately can't be squeezed either.
I wish you just lived up the road as I would bring a bottle up of something so we could have a few sips and compare the 2 smurfs....I am sure I could learn a lot by dropping by and maybe we could learn something new about both of these mystrious smurfs we have.

© Peyo? or mine is a cheap version of yours? as mine seems a bit
rough! its so interesting you have found others similar. there must
have been alot of copies of this model for some reason?

Hi Attom, I think he is a real cutie.
Like Dyar, I haven't seen one like this in silver before but I do have a couple of similar ones but with different markings and of course not silver.
Their mouths are lightly different to yours and neither of mine are squeaky either. One has the KEHL marking, the other is marked Haco.

Hmm, interesting! Not what I would call a Dupuis Smurf, but still very nice to get. I do know they licensed the squeaky toys to Lanco (Spain) at the end of the sixties, so perhaps this is one of those, and the other ones (Kehl and so on) are later versions? Puzzling business, those squeaky Smurfs

That is a great photo Attom, Thanks. You can see yours definitely hasn't been repainted.
I agree they do look very similar don't they but very interesting to see so many different markings on them also.

Hi guys, nice smurfs. Attom your silver smurf is really interesting. It definately looks like a version of the one Rach has. The Dupuis markings make it really interesting. Would they have faked that
Is it possible that this is a real Dupuis?? Lucie

Oh no, the markings are not faked (well, that's what I suppose), but like the three large Garden Smurfs, it is probably just licensed by Dupuis and not made by Dupuis, like the nice squeaky ones you recently bought are. I only consider the ones made and commercialized by Dupuis as real Dupuis Smurfs, and these as Smurfs licensed by Dupuis. Still, I would love to have it, as a collector of most Dupuis' comics stuff...

Hi Fram, thanks for the info. Im finding these smurfs really interesting and we're slowly learning more about these. Thanks mostly to you and all your smurfy knowledge about these. Do you have many Dupuis smurfs? Are these your favourite type of smurfs Fram? We were lucky to win a Dupuis Ski-ing smurf also for about 8 euro's last week. Alas he doesn't squeak. I know , Im sorry Fram. I just had to see
