sunday market find

Hey everyone. I'm enjoying the long weekend here so Sunday morning I felt like getting up and going to the local market. Haven't been for quite a while. Found smurfs to my surprise! I really couldn't believe how many smurf items I saw yesterday as you never see them anymore at markets. Though I only came home with this smurf puzzle (see pic). 1 dollar. But after I brought the puzzle, a few stalls down had a smurf soft toy (that I have about 7 or 8 of those). He didn't look too well. Then found another stall with a few pvcs, and again, another stall with a few pvcs. But I had them all, common smurfs... not in the best of condition either. But I was still excited to find smurfs. This is what really excites me about collecting that I miss. The hunt. You could go out and come home in disappointment, or go out and hit the jackpot. Now days it's just easy buying on ebay from you're computer. It still gives you a similar sensation but still doesn't beat a day out at the markets!

Brad.

Congratulations on your great Smurfy Puzzle :-D , it's really wonderful to find smurfy items when your out and about and really don't expect to.

The other week there was a small bootfair on at our daughters school and we went to have a look. I found a bag of smurfs for £1.50 so I snatched some money off kim and grabbed them. I also bought a squeaky papa from the stall for 10p which was a bargain too. :-D
The guy asked if I collected them and so I got into chatting about passion every year and what there is to collect, much to kim's annoyance as she had finished going around by the time I had stopped chatting to him. :) :)

When I got home and checked them out I had a new british torch bearer in the lot in much better condition than my previous one :D .

Smurfy regards
Steve :D

Hi Brad, that is a very nice puzzle, congratulations.

I agree, to find something in a market or car boot sale gives so much more satisfaction as you just never know what you will find. Good to hear you spotted quite a few smurfs and smurfy items. :-D

We went to a car boot sale yesterday but alas, not a smurf in sight, not even a McDonalds smurf. :(

Steve,
I am so glad you found one in good condition and for not much money at that.. :-D

Brad, I love that puzzle :D

I also love to go to fleamarkets and look for smurfs,...well, I used to :???: ebay is great for somebody like me that seems to be the only collectors around here :) :)
But when I go to visit my grandmother in Germany (maybe next year) I plan on checking out every fleamarket around Stuttgart :) :) :)

Hi Brad

That is a really nice smurf puzzle and for only a $1....what a bargain. I would of bought it straight away as well if I had seen it.

Worth the trip out I think :D

There are 4 puzzles in this set, and I already had one from the set. Missing a couple of pieces though. So I've now got 2 out of 4 with these.
