I know I have been super quite lately and that is unusual for me, I've been working my little butt off (not literaly unfortunatly) working on my very own web site. I now have a MUCH greater respect for all of you who already have yours done as I know now how much work it is.... but enough about that.

I have a question about the smurf painter 2.0045. I recently got one where his paint blotches are not raised on the pallet, they are only painted. I know by the hole in his head he is suppose to be a keychain.. so does anyone have one that has a flat pallet and not raised? I always thought the keychains where nothing more than regular smurfs with key holders on them. :-? why would they make new molds (which if the pallet is flat it would be a diffrent mold to the raised pallet one) just for keychaings..

Sorry if I am not makeing any sense... murphys law says that as soon as I am on the computer trying to think and type the kids will come up to me crying and fighting about something causing the train of thought to derail :banghead: :banghead:

Are the 3 blue blotches raised on the pallet like on normal ones Gerda?

I had a look at mine and the other colours were very flat on some but I think all mine had the 3 raised rounded blue blotches even the fakes had this.

Sometimes the keychain variations are a little different....but this would be a huge difference if all the blotches were flat.

I've been wondering how's your website has been going...when do we get a peek???

Hi Gerda, great to hear you have been working a your website, I will eagerly look forward to seeing it. :-D

Okay, the artist smurf. Firstly, Dyar,
Are the 3 blue blotches raised on the pallet like on normal ones Gerda?
You are talking about his fingers aren't you! :o

I know you are excited about your trip but come on, get a grip!!! :) :)

Gerda, I do have one where the paint blotches seem to be very flat on the palette and I can seen no raised bit (apart from his fingers :winks: ) BUT

this particular smurf, I am really not sure about anyway. He has the Schleich emblem and Peyo marked on his back but the qulaity of the paint work and the very soft PVC do lead me to believe he is a fake. I haven't got to this page yet to update and take new pics but I will be there soon so I will check into this a bit further. The smurf I am referring to is no. 4. :D

BTW, mine isn't a keyring.

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

I just dug the little guy out as I did not have him in front of me when I posted originaly. He has the markings of schleich made in hong kong on one foot and 1978 peyo on the other. Material seems to be the same as the other ones and paint seems to be ok on him so I don't think he is a fake, I took a picture of him standing next to the other smurfs.. he is the one on the left After haveing him standing next to the other ones I see he stands diffrent too.

Ps.. I want to get a couple more pages done before publishing the web site, It will be mostly non pvc items for now and down the road I can add the pvc stuff I have. Hopefully soon!! :D

Gerda,
I am looking forward to your website.... I am very interested in seeing your Non-PVC items, as I have heard you have a lot of them :-D

has it been very difficult to get started with the website?? I am thinking about doing one myself, but I am a little scared right now getting into it with everything else going on in my life :bolt:

I will give it a go soon though, depending how much time and company I'll have over the winter months.... If you have any tips how to get started, they are greatly appreciated... :D

Rachel has already given me some great input

Maureen,

I downloaded a program called yahoo site builder, it is one my mom used to make her web site. right now I have not tried to publish anything yet as I wanted to have a few pages done before attempting the actuall publishing part. If you hear any loud scream and uncantrollable swearing that would be me trying to get published.. that's what I am not looking forward too, but I'm determined to figure it out :-D
