How rare are Schönwald sockels. :? .. I looked on Kitty's Cavern and saw that only a limited amount of them has been made, but I am wondering how hard they really are to get and how much to spend on them? :-? I don't see them on ebay too often, and my first choice is to get them from an American seller to save on shipping.... I bought two today, but probably overpaid them. :(

How much would you spend on them? :-?

I just bought a couple on ebay from Dirk and they were only $7Euro BIN each. They haven't arrived yet though. I am expecting them any day as I bought them 2 weeks ago. He has 4 different ones for sale on ebay at the moment: french horn, mushroom, gift and hiker. He also offered me the witch (which isn't on ebay) but I had that already. Heres the link to the mushroom -

I guess it depends on what year they were produced. Obviously the ones produced recently are easier to find. Is there a list on the forum somwehere of all these sockels and the year they were produced?? I vaguely remember seeing it somewhere. I'd like to know so I know which ones I am still missing.

From David's pic in this thread I can see:

Papa Santa
French Horn
Chimney Sweep
Bouquet
Mushroom
Nameplate
Golfer
Hiker
Gift
Workaholic

Plus we now have
Witch

Is that all???

Edit: (ok and from Rachel's site)
St Patrick
Snowboard
Snowboard Smurfette
Tourist

I am missing Papa Santa, Bouquet,St Patrick, Snowboard, Snowboard Smurfette, Tourist and Nameplate of that lot if anyone has them and wants to sell them or sees them on ebay I'd be interested.

Marla is quite nice....I hope she is well.

The earlier ones are fairly expensive compared to the newer ones which are still reasonably cheap. I am sure David will be more informed on them though as he is the Sockel King.

I love the schonwalds..I've got them all apart from the two snowboarders..which are harder to get..hope to get them at passion or the collectors fair if I can go :D
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Hi guys, :wave2:

The list on Blue Imps is almost up to date, I just need to add the new witch and the workaholic smurfs. :D

Be careful when buying the Schönwald promos though because as mentioned, the older ones, especially the Goodluck and the 2 Snowboarders are getting quite hard to find these days and I suspect that there are a few of these floating around which have been made more recently by removing the original smurf (one of the more common ones) and adding the HTF smurf.

One thing to look for is to make sure that the sockel has the correct colour sticker for a start. The older smurfs (upto 2002) should have a white tree whilst the newer ones have a green tree. This isn't fool proof as the stickers themselves can be changed but it gives you an idea. Another thing to look for if possible (not so easy by photo) is to make sure there isn't any stray glue on the top of the sockel as this is another sign that the figure has been changed. :D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

I've updated my Schonwald page now to include the Witch. I researched that festival, hopefully there's no mistakes in there, the Germans can shout at me if there are. And David I haven't forgotten your thingy. :D

We need to have a secret lovers lane section on this forum if you guys are going to continue with despicable chatter like that.....no guessing who may be sharing a hotel room together in Brussels.

Dyar

PS - I am going to get payback for 2 years of this type of stuff in Brussels aren't I?

Postby Syd Smurf » Mon Aug 28, 2006 7:29 am
Yeah I agree Graham. I have wished we were all there for passion in times gone by and I wish there were more Aussies going (none of you guys would get a word in :) and also more from America and Canada too.

I think it would be impossible to get everyone at the one time but maybe we can try for Karen's birthday party in 2009. That should give us all enough time to save for it and maybe we can help people again also who get into any unfortunate situations. I figure if I start next year and put aside a small amount each week I will be in a great position to be able to go by 2009 regardless of what trouble I get myself into during that time.

You may finally get to meet the Aussie ladies too Graham......although I should warn you...they can be a lot meaner in person and especially altogether in a gang. So I figure, if we can come up with one good comeback each week until 2009 then we may have enough ammunition to survive for at least most of the party.....although we better come up with some good stuff.
