Yay! :-D I'm very excited and happy!
I won a lot of 8 smurfs today with a baseball smurfette!
I've been bidding on baseball smurfettes since I brought the 'suspected fake'. Finally won and for a decent price. $93US. With postage added the converted cost was around $140AU. I feel it's a great price because the bonus is that I don't have any of the other smurfs in this auction... although I do have angel and devil, these are actually variations to the ones that I have. I have a red mouth angel and a pink devil (newer production). I was lucky to win. At work waiting the countdown... outbidded, placed a bid in last minute, competition outbids, and then 1 last bid wins the auction!!! It's a good feeling to win hey.

I'm looking forward to these arriving. And I want to be able to compare my baseball smurfette 'suspected fake' with an authentic. Can't wait!

And I'm sure most of you will be happy to know that I've given in and have finally purchased the Smurf Catalog IV . It's in the post and on the way. "I'm sure I've said that I don't want to start collecting variations.....lol"

And thanks Linda. Package of goodies arrived today!
1 more peice to go to complete my second house.

Brad.

Lets hope when she arrives she doesn't have a mould N0. 3 or we'll never hear the end of it :yikes: :) :)

Glad you finally got her for a great price plus the extra smurfs you don't have :D

I think you better go and visit Father Attom with what you have brought lately :) It's great having a few extra $$$ isn't it :-D

Well done bradley :D I still need her - she's becoming so troublesome :o :)
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Nice one Brad.

I had a little bid early on as I couldn't believe what a nice lot it was but I am so glad it was a forum member that got it and at such a great price. There are some lovely smurfs in there as well as the Baseball smurfette. Lovely early variations of the devil & angel and nice variations of the basketball smurf and the baby with ice. :-D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Well done Brad

There are some really nice variations in that lot like the Hong Kong Devil & Angel which are harder to find and really nice variations...I know you don't want to colelct variations but I think you should hang onto these ones as they are quite different. I think that's also the HK Basketballer with the red stripe down the side of his shoes which isn't on the common variations. A S/ette Baseball as well....geez,....Go Straight to Father Attom, Do Not Pass Ebay and Do Not Spend An Extra $200 this week. :)

Congratulations...I think Father Attom will be very proud of you :D

It's funny, you'll see with all the recent baseball smurfettes that have sold, I asked each seller what the smurfettes markings are. My messages are all on the listings under the 'Questions from other members'.. hehe. This one is 'Schleich 1984 Peyo Made in Hong Kong W Berrie & Co' though not sure what number. Should be fine. I'm looking forward to taking a really good look with comparing her to the suspected one.
Nice one Brad.

It was lucky the seller didn't list the baseball smurfette as 'baseball'. They listed her as softball smurfette. And didn't state that in the title, so that was good for me with less people knowing and bidding. And the auction ended just before midnight US time. So this auction was for me to win, hehe.
Well done Brad

Yes, the devil and angel are nice. I think I'm slowly giving into collecting variations as I've acquired a few of recent. But I think I'd only stick with colour difference and different mold. Wouldn't go as far as markings, different countries, with dot-without dot, raws etc. Keep it simple! Thanks for letting me know about the basketball being a different variation. And the babies as well did you reckon Rachel?

Thanks.
Brad.

The Baby with Ice Crea, has a yellow collar which are the harder variations to find of this figure. There are 2 main variations with the yellow collar, one has dark blue skin like normal smurfs and the other has light blue skin like the one in the pic.....I think the light blue one is much nicer.

wow! my catalogue arrived today.
Another item that I wonder why I didn't buy sooner.
It's an excellent book. And look at all those variations, wow.
Yes, excellent book.

Also added Smurfette with comb (very cute) and Hula.

Thanks again Karen, pink smurfette cottage arrived today as well!

Okay, I think I need to actually do a house call to Father Attom now :-D

Hi Brad !

With all those smurfy goodies you have bought recently, if you confess to Father Attom, it might take weeks before we get to see you again ! :) :)

Congratulations on winning that bid Brad, you must be so pleased. It must be terrible having to wait for the goodies to arrive though. Have you got any fingernails left? :)

Actually I've found that with working full time, the days and weeks go quite quickly (I've actually lost track of days and weeks... my job I'm already dealing with August), so I'm too busy to worry about waiting. And to me it doesn't seem like I've been waiting very long when all these items turn up. That is probably why I've brought so much in recent months... the items seem to turn up quick and then I'm looking into the next buy. :)

Nice to hear you bought the DSK Brad.....it's definately worth having and I felt like I learnt so much in such a short time once I bought it.

Although the DSK is probably more responsible than anything else in my decision to start collecting variations....just warning you.

If you need any help with the German then just let me know

I just know I will start collecting variations, lol.

Did you translate some of the pages? I remember.
Are they online or could you send them to me.
That would be great! I've flicked through the book but look forward to going through it proper on the weekend.

Brad.
