I just won this adorable skier smurf- I've never seen it before and know nothing about him. Does anyone have any idea what he is?? :) Also I'm not sure how to pay for this -- is there anyone in Germany that has paypal that can help me out (I don't think the seller has a paypal account but I've emailed to double check!) :D

Hi Stace, he is fabulous, congratulations. :cheerz:

At first I thought he might be a Hazero smurf but having read the description I can see Dupuis / Peyo in there. This is a guess but maybe he is part of the same series as my lute smurf (pic below). The size seems to be approximately the same but your skier does seem to be far better quality so I am not sure.

A very nice addition to your collection. :-D

Rach, Is yours plastic or heavier? I originally thought Hazero but did not see the skier in that range. I bet Fram knows what it is too :) :)

Upon further hunting just now on the internet....I found this on Xavier's site as well - hopefully he will read this post and enlighten us as to what this smurf is ;)

Hi Stace, mine is very light, hollow plastic. :D

Yep that looks like yours on Xavier's site. Let's hope you can give you some info. :-D

That's a really nice one Stace :D

I think I have the same item here on this page but I can check the markings for you to see if they are the same.

Certainly not a Hazero, and I don't think he belongs with the three Dupuis Garden Smurfs either (Lute, Pipe, and ?), as I believe those are bigger. No idea what he is though, there has been produced so much over the years (has any of you that Italian clown Smurf, hard plastic with clothes, some 25 cm or so? Just an example  )

Mine has the markings "Peyo C Dupuis" which is the same as yours Stace.

If you get really stuck and need help paying then let me know and I will see if they take Australian Express :) .....no, I won't leave you stranded of course.

I checked your site Dyar but only looked on the large smurfs and hazero smurfs pages. :banghead: :)

Great to have the problem partly solved. Do we know what these were originally released as? Shampoo bottle, dog toy............. :-?

The Skier deffinately couldn't be a shampoo bottle as there is no lid type thing that comes off like that Papa we have Rach...there is also a hole underneath the skies....so dog toy or baby toy I would say....although this is too cool for puppies & bubbies in my opinion......maybe it was just meant to be a Dyar chew toy and they were ahead of their time. :-?

...although I do recommend a little bit of honey on the Skier.....Dyars like that on their chew toys.

I think these are all the works of the devil. I think you should all be ashamed. I'm just not sure what you should be ashamed of. Maybe the fact that we socialize with Australians. My god. Did you know that Australians are technically orientals? Not that I have anything against orientals. Which brings me to my next question: do all Australians know kung fu?

this 14,5 cm sky smurf is made by HACO (from Germany, I suppose)

Thank you Barrufet! I have the HACO smurfette also but without seeing them together, I never would have thought the skier was one too. The skier should be arriving in a week or so too :D
