Hi Attom, lovely additions to your collection, all of them but especially the Jungle, he is fab. I also really like the nurse and the chips smurf, very nice and very different.
I recently won an auction with that fake pirate in it, plus the pirate smurfette, they should be with me in a day or teo. I will post pics when they arrive. I think the pirate is missing his sword but for the price I paid and the other smurfs in the lot I don't really mind.
I think I have just one fake pirate missing now..........

Thanks Attom, I knew there were some nice smurfs in there but I had no idea how hard to find some of them are. It was actually the diver that caught my eye to start with.
I am sure there was a time when I would have glanced at this type of lot and dismissed it straight away. I have you to Thank for showing me the light.

Thanks for the info Attom...or as I like to call you....oh Lord of Smurfs that are known as Fake.
Master, can I ask you to identify another type of fake for me? I have quite a few of these types of fakes but when it comes to cataloging them/describing them on the website I am not sure what to call them? Are these just considered Grotesque or do they have another label/name? Also, do you know where they come from as they are very different to the normal soft/hard mold Grotesque fakes that are everywhere?
Dyar...your humble servant

Hi Attom
Do fake smurfs sell in retail stores somewhere or are they a purely internet enterprise? I mean, can I go to a market in Prague and expect to find a dealer in fake smurfs sitting behind a booth?
In other words, if you didn't have ebay, but could travel anywhere for free, where would you look for fakes at?
[Hokay, the answer to this question is: "I would look in Hawaii", but I mean where would you look with a realistic expectation of finding them?

hi! Drunky
well I don't think there are really any retail or special booths for fakes only..except with me off course! hehehe
most fakes are found by accident at flea markets or thru dealers who sell
real smurfs items and have some fake stock as well, now that there is a market for them
I find them more since I search only for fakes..as a priority..
I've been hunting only fakes since I started collecting.. I sort of picked up
the rare or normal smurfs along the way as a fix to my addiction to get something!
so far Ebay is still the best place.. but alot of sellers don't admit or know they are selling a fake in their lots.. infact most sellers are not smurf experts...
the dealers that are experts..price fakes at a higher price.

hey Dyar!
well I think calling those harp fakes Grotesque would be a good start!
I think they are probably dutch fakes..
and those plumbers! especially the cutie with no pants! which I think is a
superb fake is probably Polish..
the axe smurf also looks kinda like a polish smurf!
