Blue Cavern

I finally got a Gargamels Castle today

I was disappointed when i opened it as it was the old version and not brand new. When i ordered it had the photo of the new version on the website.
Anyway i have got over it now and happy with what i have. It has a few paint rubs on the dark blue bricks but everything else is fine.

I suppose having a different version is better than no Gargamels Castle at all right?


What does everyone think....do you prefer the new or old version better ?

That's so great Rae....I much prefer the older version than the newer one actually.....and the older one is so much harder to find so I think you did really well getting one. Do you have all of the big buildings now?

One thing I was surprised about when I first got a Gargy Castle was the size of it...it's pretty big compared to the other buildings don't you think?

If you don't want it then I am sure Graham will be happy to have it

Yeah, i'm thinking the same thing now Dyar.

After looking at it on and off today i think the roof looks better on the older version.

Umm, and yeah i have all the big buildings now

It is a lot bigger than i thought it was Just need to find somewhere to put it now

Speaking of huge you're right it does look a little bit like a Gargamel doesn't it...uh-hem.....the Castle that is......quick subject change left

I keep forgetting I have the old Gargy Castle and other buildings as a lot of them are in a wardrobe in the bedroom and I haven't seen them for months due to lack of space...it seems such a waste to have them hidden away when these large buildings look so nice on display.

Well it's being displayed on the carpet at the moment

Kirk's meant to be putting some shelves in an old cupboard for me so i can put all my smurfs in there.

I should take a photo of the ones on the floor...heheheh

At the moment i have 4 and a half shelves full of smurfs on a bookcase and the school playset, Playground, Large mushroom house and 2 small cottages on the floor either side of it

I need some room.... as i still have plenty of smurfs to go

Do you have the Gargamel's Lab from DJs yet?.....if not that might have to be a priority to fill up your castle. I agree that the roof looks much better detailed than the all yellow newer one.

I agee with Dyar, I also personally prefer the older castle and of course it is the harder one to get. You will have to show us a pic when you have found a home for it.

I agree, Drew, you really need to have those buildings on display....so as soon as you ship them over, they can be seen on display at the Delaware Smurf ChooChoo Train Center

Sorry Stace....I don't mean to sound like you're a bad tankkeeper or anything but they would get all green stuff over them.....still...I know how much fun you would have swimming through the castle.....hopefully Jas would leave the doors open otherwise you could end up with a few major headaches.

Great castle Raelene! I would love to have this building someday. Too bad that DJ didn't order any in. That would have been my chance to get one. Now that it has been discontinued it will be harder to find. And postage is the problem.

Hi Raelene, i have to say i prefer the old castle too. Both are fab tho' , and a great addition to anyones collection Lucie
