Bayreuth Ice Hockey Smurf - anyone know anything about?

Hi, found an auction on German ebay for Bayreuth ice hockey smurf:

I wondered if anyone knew anything about him?
I looked on Google & there appear to be 2 icehockey teams in Bayreuth - the hoopers and the tigers, so which is it for?

Hi Helen, never seen this one , it could be real or just the regular guy with a repainted red helmet. Worth asking the seller

I forgot the gloves too are a possible repaint. Easy to do.

I can't help you regarding which team this could be Helen...unfortunately when it comes to sport I only really know about Rugby League.....I couldn't even tell you what colour socks the red sox wear......but I will take a wild stab and say red.....I could be wrong though.
I am sure someone native to that area might be able to help.....is Bayreuth in Canada?

Ah.....good point Attom. It's the Hockey that Bayreuth built.
The fact that this could be a repaint is the type of thing that really turns me off wanting to buy the rarer promos......it's a shame that this has to be the case though but it would be hard to tell whether this one is real since not many people know too much about it and since the fact that the PVC base colour is most likely yellow just like the regular ones. Like Stace says, the red helmet doesn't look right though does it?
