Happy Birthday Sockels

Hi,

Was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the happy birthday sockels?

I have one which I think has the cake/dessert smurf on top which seems very logical to me to be on top. Recently though I have seen one with a mallet smurf on top...which seems an odd way to say Happy Birthday! and one with a superman smurf on top....though I guess that is not as strange.

As I don't have a Katalog yet :( I can't look in there. Are these just sockels with any old smurf stuck on top or are they actually made like that?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Linda

Thanks Sven.

Now that I think about it I think my sockel has a blue base and a singer....I'll have to dig in the bottom of the box and find it now.

The superman one definitely had a yellow base. I think the mallet one had either a red or yellow base.

Hi Linda,

I'm inclined to think like you on this one: I'm not sure there was much rules for these. It looks like you can find many different ones with the same base. And the relation between the smurf and the message can sometimes be pretty vague, to say the least!

I have collected pictures of almost all the sockel/base smurfs that I have seen on the net... They are obviously not my pics so I can't really put them somewhere for everyone to see, but I have lots! This makes me believe that cataloguing all the different versions list would be I think very difficult!

Linda, if you are wondering about a particular Smurf, let me know and I'll make a "collage" of the various pics related to that Smurf...
(I can't do it by the "message" on the base, as I have classed the pics using the Schleich number of the smurf on the base)

Cheers,

David

Hi guys, I totally agree with you, the smurf a grams are difficult to follow as there just seems to be sooooo many. It is a shame that there isn't a site specialising in them, I know Daniel seemed to be going that way as he had a fantastic collection of them but I don't think his site is showing them any more..... :(

I don't have many so I am afraid I am not much help sorry. :-?

Well I will take pics of the ones I have today hopefully and put them on the Special smurfs page on my website. I only have 4 at the moment but I have 2 more on the way.

Oh wait, actually I have 6 at the moment but the other 2 are the same as one of the four and I'm using them in trades.

Just thought I'd post a pic of the mallet Happy Birthday sockel as mentioned in the first post. I just traded some smurfs for it (Thanks peej ;))

I couldn't find a picture of it in the catalogue and as I don't know what mallet would be in German I don't think its mentioned in there but cannot be 100% sure...maybe Fram can help? Maybe this should therefore be in the uncatalogued section?

I still think its a weird way to say Happy Birthday. :-?
