Well, Ok, you lot know that I am completely bonkers already, BUT, am I getting more paranoid than the usual?

This is brings me back to the very subject which brought to this forum in September! INA Smurfs!

I recently bought a set of 4 INA Smurfs from Germany, but I only wanted one of them... now look at the pics below and tell me if you agree:

(Sorry the pics are not very good, but I hope you can still see the details)

The first show the pirate INA smurf:

Now, below are the details that strikes me:

- The color is different.
- The shape and tip of the sword is different
- The hand, for the one on the left is attached to the foot
- The paint (black) on the belt is rather poorly applied

The markings on the feet of the pirate one are below.

You can the huge ridge under the feet of the left one.

All this, makes me believe that it's a fake. Has anyone seen this before?

Cheers,

David

Now the pictures gets worse and worse, coz it was later and later in the night and I was getting more and more tired, but they still show the general idea.

School INA Smurf first:

The color is different and also the quality of the markings...

hi David!

I have the pirate smurf on the right! without the crease

says INA 1983.. and I noticed my sword is a bit more squared off at the top!

no point!... I got mine ages ago from Sweet Christine!

are yours that soft rubber??

also my pirates hand is not attached to his leg!

In terms of PVC: they are all fairly soft, and in any case, much softer than the regular PVC.

The dark blue ones seem to be quite smooth and a little harder.

The light blue ones are the softest (by that I mean they bend very easily) and it's probably what made me think originally that they might have been rubbers... and as we know demonstrated by Karen to be wrong...

They are all marked 1983 which I find strange: if they were genuine, I would have thought the date would have been different...

What does everyone think?

Cheers,

David

Hi guys, very interesting discussion and Thanks for posting all the pics. I am not lucky enough to have any of these INA smurfs yet so I am in no real position to comment. Looking at the pictures though and reading both your comments I would agree that they certainly seem to be from at least diferent batches and more than likely some are fakes.......

David, the very first picture of the pirates, is it me or is there a general seam visible on the left version which doesn't exist on the right hand one. :-?

Can anyone remind the details of these promos please. Where and when they were released and what the company was promoting. Sorry, having a "senior" moment...... :gaga:

Do you remember the eraser discussion? This is how David first came to be here, he was trying to track down INA and whether these were meant as erasers. We couldn't find out anything and IMPS couldn't help either.
