André, I don't collect variations, only mold (and extreme color variation). So I just need 1 smurf of each mold. :D

I may buy a few blisters more, if they get put on sale. Just to get them Mint, but if not I can live with the used ones I have.

Omg, I think I'd better stay away from toysrus or else mrs tojo will kill me :) :)

I love these smurfs in blisters nevertheless & will secretly search for them....

The angry smurf will not be sold at TrU USA, so for all you US collectors, be sure to get one from Europe

Great to see you again, Schleicher. I was wonderring if these packs will be sold in Germany as well. I asked some three weeks ago at any Toys 'R' Us nearby and they told me that they had no clue. :o

Just a curiosity from the well informed member of the forum with inside information: Angry Smurf is not released in the US in order to be 'politically correct'?

Well, I called a Toys 'r us next to Paris and they don't know about these smurfs...
Is there a place where they can be found in France ? In other countries of Europe ?

Don't know about France, but they are available in Denmark and apparently Sweden.
My suggestion would be go to your closest T'r'U and take a look around. You might never know if they're hanging there. :D

The manager in my TRU told me the purchasers in TRU Denmark desides what will be in the shops in Sweden, and the whole Scandinavia. Therefore the are in TRU stores in all Scandinavia. But I do not know in which other countries. I think each TRU unit with purchasers desides if they will sell them or not.

They told me that they have a total of 2000 Angry smurfs in stock, spread over all the TRU shops in Scandinavia I assume. :)

Some people have a higher (too high?) awareness of political corectness than others. You decide for yourself what you think of that..

They should just paint him purple and release it in the US... 8-)

Anyway, I grew up with the angry being black and it never "affected" my mind in the way that those "political correctness" people think. I think they are the ones that are sick and should be checked by a shrink... :weird:

Actually this PC is pretty typical for the US so I am not surprised TRU decided not to sell it. In the current PC US mindset, some idiot would have sued them for race discrimination.

Not sure how many heard of the case of Paula Deen, a celebrity cook from the South, who got sued for discrimination, admitted she used the N word 25 years ago (when everybody in the South used it) and lost her cooking show and business deals because of it...this was before this case was even heard at a court. The case was dismissed but Ms Deen is still out of her business deals because America has become so political correct that if there is even an indication of race intolerance (or other intolerance for that matter) you become a person/business non grata over here.

So in that regard, I can understand TRU's decision not to sell the Angry..even though I absolutely do not agree with it as this smurf has nothing to do with race

Well, I followed your advice and went to the closer toysrus (that is not so close...) and, waouh !! I could find 16 different smurfs. They had not so many and I took a big part.
I asked for the others, but the seller said he has no stock and does not know if they and when they will have more smurfs. People in this shop are not helpful.
When I paid the smurfs, the cashier said : "Ah, at least the received the smurfs!" So she is the best informed ! And I was lucky to arrive at the good moment.
Like you Maureen, I found a Ballerina with paint error (laces unpainted) :)
But no Angry

Great Brad.

I have been thinking about the Angry. Was the comic sold in Australia as The Purple smurf?

I mean that could also be a reason not selling the Angry in some countries.

Personally I would love if they could release a genuine Purple Angry to go with the english comicversion. :D That would also be another nice variation to our collections. :-D
