Hi to all,
I'm just writing to ask if anyone knows anything about these smurfs. I borrowed a picture from a US website, but they are also on the official catalogue, and the only things I know is what you can read on that web page (they are worth 2,500$ each at least!). Does anyone know who has them? Do exist fakes also of these smurfs? Thanks to everyone who replies, Paolo.

I think I read somwhere that these are the most expensive smurfs that have ever sold on ebay. They were never bought into production which is why they are so rare. I'm not sure if any fakes exist but I'm sure people here will know alot more than me.

Rachel has a good page about these on her website:

Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Certainly the angel with a present has been faked (or we presume faked)

See post on this auction:
http://forum.bluecavern.com/viewtopic.php?t=3394

Also Karen comments from info on blue imps
In December 2002 even a fake of the "Angel" was sold on Ebay in Germany for $581 clearly stating it was a fake!

At present though that's the only 1 I know has been faked (odd I far prefer the other 2).

I believe when they were sold were sold as the only origingal (ie that they only made 1) but woudl be authenticated by Schleich. Certainly the bellringer appeared in an old smurf catalogue (forget which, read it on MV somewhere)

I also surprised that these haven't been faked more.....you wouldthink with the demand for them that they would be popping them out every week. I would love to have these even if they were fakes as it is unlikely that I would ever get an authentic one as like Helen says...there may be only one authentic set of these.

hi

as far as we know even the first ones are fake..

I see many really well made fakes...that are original in design and it all depends on how well they are done..

these could have been a test mold?? or even a sample?

maybe Karen can ask her special smurf expert about these??

Good idea Attom, it would be interesting to hear any info that Bob could tell us......I doubt Karen's contact is really named Bob but I wanted to give him a name so from now on I will just call him "Bob".
