Thank you, Andre....this helps a lot. If you ever run across this Bully poster, can you let me know? I would love to get one myself :)

Another thought, as you know I've become interested in the production years (you probably had something to do with that :winks: :) )...do you think Bully produced the same smurfs throughout the 70s until they lost the license and just added new molds to it (or Schleich molds in 75)? Or do you think they took some smurfs out of the production and always produced the same amount of smurfs like Schleich did once they got the license back?

I know this will be nearly impossible to answer since we don't have catalogs for a few of the production years, but would like to know your opinion.

Maureen,

actually we know that they did not remove any smurfs all the way to 1978, just added new ones. I don´t think they made any changes the last year they made smurfs in 1979.

I am 100% sure the picture of the smurfs here is taken during 1978. So these are the smurfs Bully sold 1978. :-D

I have the very large Bullyposter from 1978 without smurfs and if you compare they even added a few more items they did not had before.

So in 1978 Bully sold all 36 smurfs they had made that faar. And Bullyvariation of Gargamel, Johan and Pewitt.

I forgot to add that I am also pretty sure Bullyvariation of digger, Gargamel, Astro and Smurfette were never sold by Schleich.

The only thing they changed are that they sold and made the Schleichsmurfs(-molds) between 1975 and until 1977. When Schleich got these back and therefore they were not on the Bullypicture from 1978. This is also why they as said before added their variation of Astro and Smurfette after the new smurfs to be sold in 1978.

Of course they changed the markings and changed the molds of the first smurfs also during the time Bully made smurfs.

Regarding catalogues I don´t think Bully made any this early.

Bully started making figurines in 1973 "at his home" and it was first in 1977/78 they started the new factory. So they did not have enough figurines to make a catalogue. :-?

But with Stefans posters from 1974 and 1975 and my posters from 1976, 1977 and 1978 and the picture of the smurfs from 1978 on the box. We have all the information we need except for 1979. But we have the Schleichcatalogue from 1979 and know that Schleich did not sell any Bullysmurfs then, because of the lawsuit.

This tells us that Bully probably sold their smurfs in 1979 and Schleich sold their smurfs in 1979( including the ones they got back from Bully with removed emblem). :-? :D
