In the Schleich Web site, the following smurfs have been marked as "Collector's item 2011":

- Smurfette on Holiday (40262)
- Computer Smurf (40249)
- Keyboarder (40250)
- Red Smurf Cottage (49011)

What does this marking mean?

My guess is like this.

Just like this poster of the other items, they are the ones being withdrawn during next year??? Maybe, I am not sure?? :o

But as you see on the poster it says the same thing. Collectors items 2011???? :-? :D

Actually is says like this on Schleichwebsite:

Nur für kurze Zeit!

This means only for a short time.

So maybe they release collectors items in special boxes next year??? Or it means they will be removed during next year??

Something I would love if Schleich did with smurfs is like they do with the animals.

When you buy the airplane you get a coupon( note that many seller sell the airplane and have removed the coupon. So look out).

From this you get one of these specialmade animals.

Wouldn´t it be fun it they did the same with the smurfs.

A specialzebrapainted smurf for a coupon!!! :-D   But maybe not zebrapainted, right?? :o

That is very correct Lia!!

On these animals all of them are painted as a zebra. How would you like the smurfs to be painted???

I would think it would be great if the many different smurfs from the magic egg-comic would be these exclusive smurfs.

Think how many different smurfs there could be. With very long beard, devils tail, big moustasche, pink and green, sausage etc.

All in limited editions!! :o

If they were being withdrawn, why bother printing a poster?

The poster shows most items that are being retired 31.Dec. 2010. Some are mising, like the Computersmurf. You will most likely still find some of the items in your local store, so if you are planning to buy retired items, the poster shoudl give you a rough idea what you should be looking for.

Great information Schleicher!!

And I am not surprised. Not many people uses a CRT monitor anymore.

One of the most funny thing with the smurfs is going back and check when they were made. Like camera, CB radio, crt computer, etc. It is so good when they make them so you can follow the history.

I think I got all the new markings on these 4, if all 4 are beeing withdrawn.

The addressmarking exists on all 2010 supers for those of you, who don´t have them. :D Check for the datemark on the box. Try to find high dates, then you most likely will get this marking.

Hi,

I think it is like this. At least in Sweden.

Even if they are withdrawn 31. dec 2010 you will most likely find most of them for many many months in 2011. In Sweden I can usually find the withdrawn smurfs for at least the first half of the next year. So in that way they are collectors items 2011. :-D

I agree..the smurf with the cell phone looks funny now..but was so current when first released :)

I like it how the first smurfs used historical accessories (i.e. the photographer).then they became current (camera) and now are out dated again. :) At least the laptop smurf is still current

The new markings are fairly easy to find right now (even in the US)..but I think they will become rarer with time, so it's a good idea to stock up on them if you look at smurfs as an investment :D

Do you have all 10 supers with the new addressmarking, Maureen??

I was thinking, what item should the smurfs have today, which we can be nostalgic about in the future??? :-?

The modern cellphones we already can find with Hexalotte.

Maybe a internettablet like the ipad I showed before in the apple link.

One nice smurf would be a smurf standing beside something to show their real size. Like a animal or something else.

I mean like in the comics when they collect food for the winter.

I think I do, Andre....I honestly have lost track what I have right now, but I've been buying the smurfs with the new markings as I've found them...and lately haven't found any that I still need.

I always thought it would be nice to have a Gargamel and Azrael that is taller than the smurfs. He won't have to be human size, since the smurfs aren't three apples tall either, but the displays would be more real if Gargamel was taller...and his accessories as well. Gargamel with the net looks pretty funny...there is no way he will catch a smurf with it...he won't even catch one of the butterflies attached to the cottages with it :)

A smurf watching TV would be nice..I am sure before long TVs will be outdated...a smurf with an Ipod would be another idea :D
