I am reading the SCCI letters again and noticed that 17 is not on Maureens website. Is this just me not finding it or is it missing??? :-?

It is very nice reading and eventhough many old information sometimes seems wrong, the information from the exact years when these letters are written is very intresting!! :D

Like this info: After Schleich financial problems as you know they removed many many smurfs from the catalogue 1986 compared to the catalogue 1987. So at this time the 1986 issues was in the beginning seen as almost limited editions. And after all it was true regarding the red cone, but many of the others were released again.

But when Schleich made these changes in 1987 they stopped making smurfs in Hongkong and therefore some markingvariations can be rare. :D

Maureen I hope it is OK I added this picture taken from the SCCI letter on your website! :-D

Desert storm Norman Schwarzkopf Scud missles!!! But no smurfs!! :-?

I probably have it but it got lost when I uploaded more stuff on the website. I will have to check my paper copies and look for the catalog. I also noticed a few of the other links are missing, so I will have to correct these as well the next time I update the website :D

And yes, it is ok, of course

Thanks Maureen,

I have read the letters once again and made a lot of notes!! :D

But I still am surpriced that they did not mention the playsets and supersmurfs more?? Mostly the normal smurfs!!

But the letters are very funny to read and the communication with Schleich is very intresting.

If you have letter 17 I would love to read it! :D

Another thing.

If this was a fake I guess it would not be in the Schleichcatalogues.

So this is not a fake! :D

Do you think she may be speaking of the CNT version? She isn't mentioning any markings and the picture isn't good enough to see if it's the Schleich version :-?

Good point Maureen!

I don´t have the CNT and can´t compare.

Here is the complete explanation.

I think in one or two of her later letters she mentions CNTs...she doesn't say they are officially licensed but she did quite like them (who doesn't) :)

The SCCI are calling it pirated but NOT on the basis of absent markings.....

There is clearly a CNT variation of this BUT it is also in official Schleich catalogues on a key ring-I think toward the back in 1986-Andre can you check as I cannot find mine.....

Therefore there has to be a Schleich variation too. In fact the one I had from childhood -bought in UK- had lemon yellow hair like the ugly high heeled thinner variation AND had a yellow paint dot. The CNT seems to have the golden orangey yellow hair which they always seem to use instead of normal yellow

Thus there IS a Schleich variation no question

CNTs are unlicensed smurfs from Spain...CNT stands for Comic Non Toxico

There are a lot of CNTs available...some have fantastic color variations and some sell for more than licensed smurfs from Schleich :D

Here are some of them (my site is outdated as I got a bunch of new ones)

Schleich made their variation of this Smurfette between 1978-1979. You can see this as a keyring already in the 1980 Schleichcatalogue.

Bully had the first Schleichmold but made a new variation of it in 1975 and maybe Schleich also wanted a new moldvariation of Smurfette, but sticked to the old variation when they got the mold back from Bully??

Definatly a Schleichvariation, but also exists as CNT and maybe other??? :-D

Well Well Look who we have here?
Under the Schleich banner, 1979

I think like the Christmas Proto types as well as the Hula Smurfette. I think they went to publish and then were with drawn, making them maybe not only rare but also highly desired.

Wonder how many have her in their collections.

Her markings are as follows:

1. Under her left foot
2. PEYO (Letters not signature) Embossed not ingraved.
3. Has the copyright symbol on.
