Hi guys,

I just read on a German tv board (http://www.tvforen.de), that finally the first and the second season of "The Smurfs" will be released at the beginning of August , along with a re-release of the "The Smurfs and the Magic Flute".
http://www.amazon.de/Die-Schl%C3%BCmpfe ... 951&sr=8-1
http://www.amazon.de/Die-Schl%C3%BCmpfe ... 212&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.de/Die-Schl%C3%BCmpfe ... 242&sr=1-2

Unfortunetly, I haven't found any pics, but let's hope that they finally release both the series with the first intro and in the right order and at best including some interesting features.

@Moey: I'd love to help you out on that one. To make sure, that you won't have to pay more than you are supposed to, I will carefully compare the prices beforehand.

Hiya,

I got some news concerning the German release of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, that I want to share with you.

The series will be released in the same quality as it had been throughout the re-runs on Super RTL and Boomerang. You may select, the theme song though. (Either the American original version or the German version
"Kommt mit ins Schlumpfenland").
Unfortunently due to legal restictions the Tele5 version won't be included as an extra option. The opener of each of the seasons is the American one, hence the openers are changing from season to season. However, there will be a new graffic design for the title, which is similar to those episodes that were released on vhs earlier during the 1990s.

All special episodes of Johan & Peewit are missing, but the company aims for the rights to release them sometime later. If that should work out that series will be released as "Johann & Peewit in Schlumpfhausen".

Btw. find the pics of the boxes of season 1 & 2 attached.

Thanks to Dom, I received the first two season DVD sets and it looks like all of the seasons will be released in Germany by March next year :woohoo:

Since I grew up with the smurfs in Germany, I always prefered the German version (only time I prefer the German version on any TV series or movie) so this is really exciting for me

I finally get to give my self recorded awful VHS smurf tapes the boot

I doubt I'll do it though...I am sentimental enough to keep those old tapes

Those are really nice boxsets! I have a dumb question though....do the smurfs speak German in your cartoons? I assume they would but never thought of it until now :) :)

I thought Smurfs were supposed to speak Belgian :-? If you have room in your luggage, you can....I think you will already have a lot to bring with you though :) :)

Yes.....if my opinion counts for anything. I can add them to my German music CDs. Maybe you can translate them for us the next time you're in town Moey.
