I just found this article on the web, scroll down to the bottom paragraph where it talks about the large smurf balloon and new merchandise at next years toy show. Fingers crossed it's all true. I for one am not going to miss the parade in hopes of seeing a giant blue smurf fly across the sky :D

News also that The Smurfs will have a giant character helium balloon and float at this years Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
I might have to go to the parade this year then to see this
I am seriously considering going up to NYC to see the parade....anyone want to meet up

Smurfs at Toy Fair 2009! Cool! Hope we will get to see some photos from the event. Sounds like a good year for the smurfs in America next year. Hopefully it doesn't take long to spread to Australia and other countries.

Is the Macy's Parade shown on tv in America?
They don't show that Parade in Australia for obvious reasons.
We get to see the Santa Parade on Christmas Day.

Brad.

Yup, the Macy's Day Parada is HUGE on American tv...if you don't watch that, you're stuck with football :yawning:

Hey Stacy; Your pretty much stuck with football anyway. All the games start after the parade is over. Bill :) :) :)

There's nothing wrong with a good football game. I went to yesterdays Mizzou - Colorado football game. Colorado didn't show up tho Score was 58 Zip Mizzou. I would have fallen asleep but I was working. Bill

I don't like games like that where the score is all one sided. give me a good competition and i'm happy.

You don't see the players underneath all that padding
granted this year the packers aren't playing but oh well
The Vols stink, too, this year..apparently Vanderbilt are doing great though.

some of those players are better off NOt being seen :yikes: Now the baseball players are more fun to look at, especially when you start counting how many times in a game they readjust there crotch :eyebrow:

Nah, I'm not stuck with football ever...the tv changes channels. I'm a hockey fan anyway and never watch football :-D

Wow your TV changes channels? Mine does too but I really only get one channel so it doesn't matter if it changes or not. I get a few more if you want to listen to every other word. Bill

I was just looking up info on the Macy's Day Parade and the front page has the smurf on it :D

http://www.macys.com/campaign/parade/parade.jsp

I also found there is public viewing of the inflating of the balloons on Wednesday, November 26 from 3pm - 10pm, in case anyone is in the area. The complete line up for the parade on Thursday, November 27 is also on the website above.
