Emailed IMPS about possibility of doing charity smurf for charity involved with & got back following from them

"Next year we are setting up a charity program with one of the most important international organisation aimed to help children. In order not to jeopardize this program we cannot authorise the presence of the Smurf character in a second operation."

Fingers crossed its many many promotional smurfs ...

And the logo attached to their email ...

Great News, Helen :D

I like their logo :-D and just the fact that you received two responses in one week (or two?) is very promising

Wow ! excellent info. Helen :worship: Great job :-D (although it's a shame there will be no smurfs for your charity).

Looks like the 50 is going to be the top smurfy year it should be :fingersx:

Maybe it's Unicef. A couple of years ago they did a short video about bombing the Smurf village (that I really disliked), so maybe this time they will put out a joyous setting for whatever they have in mind to do.

Thanks for the wonderful news! :)

Just pitty that means you don't get your smurf for charity. :(

I don't know much about promos and charities and such. But how can one charity promo jeopardy another? :-?
I know I would get my hands in both, and probably many other ppl would too - and not just collectors. After all, smurfs go well with smurfs. ;)

Hi Helen, Thanks for letting us know what came of you emailing about a promo. It is disappointing for you that they won't consider a promo for your charity but it is very interesting to here that a charity promo is in the pipeline though.

Like Paolo and Joaquin, UNICEF springs to my mind too. :-D

What a fabulous logo for the 50th Anniversary too. :smitten:

I just noticed that this smurf is the same one that appears in the package for the new Belgian stamps, and these stamps are copyrighted 2008.
So this might be the official Smurf for the 2008 anniversary!
