Hello everybody,

I have been collecting smurfs from a year now! I have more of 200 of them walking around in my room.
Can somebody please tell me if there are special events fairs planned in the near future? I would like to buy more smurfs for my collection but I don't know where to find them. And ebay isn't always great...

Welcome to this crazy world !

There is a fair in Belgium next year March and the exact date will be posted here. In the same period, and probably on the same day, there is one in the South of Holland. Before March next year I do not think there will be one. We have about 6 a year in Holland and the last was of 2005 was last week. There is a comics fair in France (Lille) in February but no idea on the Smurf level there

If you want to drive to Rotterdam any Smurf collector is always welcome here and we have a few thousand of spare Smurfs. If you are looking for the more common pieces you might want to try Venlo, in Holland (Limburg). There is a store where they sell the more common Smurfs and might be quite close to you.

I wish I lived in Belgium so I could attend these smurf fairs that happen in and around your country. Besides that youc an always purchase from Kittyscavern which is a very reliable and honest seller of mint smurfs.

fellow Belgian! Your best bet is probably Schtroumpf Passion, near La Louvière, which will probably be held in March, like Tessa-Dennis said. Apart from that (and other fairs), most of us buy from eBay, from Kitty's Cavern, or trade with one another.
If you don't like eBay because there are too many fakes and repaints, you can always post auctions you are interested in here for our scrutiny. We can't spot all the fakes either (the pictures are often way too blurry), but we aren't ashamed to give our doubts and comments, and some of the members are bound to have traded with the seller yet, if he is a regular, and are often willing to give their impression (from the very reliable through to the very avoidable ones).

It is always nice to welcome new members, especially when they are from the birthplace of the smurfs. The Schtroumpf Passion is fantastic, I can highly recommend it.
