Ok, dont let me get carried away, but this is just a thought ...... who thinks Dyar shud have a website to show off his collection, cos i think its a collection to be proud of and worthy of everyone to see ? but relax Dyar, i know how time consuming it will be, we will give you to next week !

ooh ooh ooh.....I agree Graham......Dyar should have a website......a time consuming project with no time to bid would do my bank account, Mrs Dyar and my healing bones the world of good......I suppose waiting for my website to fall out of the sky won't get me very far will it?

It was just a thought Dyar, i know how hard it is to set up and then maintain, i have spoken to Linda about her site while she was working on updating it, and it did seem like hard work ! Good Luck if you can ever do one !

Thanks Graham...I hope to do something soon. Pauli started helping me a while back which was really nice of him but I must admit I got a little lost with it all......unfortunately there is no "instant smurf site" button on the keyboard....I even looked underneath the keyboard but nope....I guess I will keep looking.

Well did you look under the new keyboard or the old one? That could be the problem - wrong keyboard you're looking under. Oh, look at that...I have a "Dyar smurf website button" on mine but you can't have it

, That's mean Staci but made me giggle. I think its a great idea too ! We should all go on holiday to Australia to Stay with Dyar. We can all take photo's of Dyar's smurfs with our Digi camera's for the web site and in payment Dyar can give us his smurfs. Once he has them on his computer to look at he won't need them. Just think how happy Mrs Dyar would be and think of the extra room you could have guests over to stay ! Lucie

the one I am using now is super easy!! after all Steve taught me how to do this..and I tried the real web site ones and I also got lost!

this one I am using is a yahoo freebie! one and so so easy..

and if the space is not big enough you can make more websites!!

Alright...my goal is to have a website up and running by Christmas.....2005 that is. It may resemble the Death Star in Return to the Jedi but at least it will be somewhat "op-perational"

I just wanted to say that I signed up with Yahoo fora web page....but then it didn't make any senseto me at all......I have no idea what to do or what to go....I pressed the "build your own site" button but then I had no idea what to do next as none of the options looked like anything that I was expecting to be there.....everyone says this is really easy so I am feeling really stupid at the moment.....I would appreciate any help from anybody to translate the English "building a website" page as it all sounds greek to me

What do you need to know Dyar? Did you set up a geocities one? I found it kinda confusing at first but once you get the hang of it its pretty simple really. Its just very very very time consuming.

I think its much easier to do it in Publisher or Word first though and then upload the whole file. They are much more user-friendly in my opinion and I am teaching the Yr 6s and 7s (11-12yr olds) at my school how to make a webpage using Publisher. If they can do it I'm sure anyone can.

Um.....how to get started as I am totally stuck right at the beginning. I believe I signed up for a Geocities site but from there it didn't make much sense. I would love any help to take me through the steps as I would love to join you guys and have my own site too despite the work involved. I think by doing the site it may help me to spend less on smurfs which is something I really need to learn before Mrs Dyar signs me up for Smurfaholics Anonymous.

I would love to help you but we'd be like two clueless idoits staring at the screen for about an hour saying things like '.........what about if you press this button.......' '..........oh yeah.... or maybe, I could try and click there, let's see what happens now.........' 'oooooo i don't think we want to be here, press the back button' 'yeah i don't know what the that was all about' '...... oh try there, click on that' 'ok' .......... 'oh...... opps.... maybe not, go back' 'wait look what it says there ...... ok, so if I type something there ......... and press this ........ oh .... well that didn't work' 'hey' 'yeah' 'should we play with your smurfs?' 'yeah i think so'

LOL SJ....I would ask for your help but I have already learnt those things you mentioned above....except for I excelled and came out with many more carrots than you ...I mean...
