Hi Everyone
Does anyone know when Schleich started selling the "Golden 100" smurfs?
From my understanding it stopped around 2000 due to deteriation of some of the older moulds and was reduced down to 50 in 2001.
Cheers
Kath

Perhaps I should explain the little bit of information I know. Up until 2000 Schleich released 100 different smurfs known as the "Golden 100" each year. This was a mixture of new smurfs and old smurfs.
In 2001 this was reduced down to 50 smurfs.
What I am wanting to find out when did this start! Was when Schleich started selling smurfs again or was it after Wallace Berrie stopped producing smurfs.

I am not that great with PVC history, but didn't WB stop producing smurfs around 1985? So this would have been long before Schleich reduced their production.

Where's André when you need him? I expect he might know.

Hi Kath,
They started with this for the new decade in 1990. Picked the 100 best selling models. And then continued throughout the decade. Stopped after 2000.

Thank you Andre for the answer.
I think this was around the same time (genuine) smurfs were being made in China.
