I have opportunity to buy smurf comic in German. Does anyone have comic titled: "Die Abenteuer Der Schlumpfe - Ein Verräter"?

Is it something like "Adventures of the Smurfs - The Traitor"?

Seller didn´t have picture. There´s 47 pages on comic.
If you have one of these or know something about it, please tell me.

I received my German smurf book today. Yes it´s more likely a book tahn comic. Story is same as the one with Gargamel drinking potion that turns him smurf. Only without tail.
Difference is that Gargamel is replaced with female witch Gathaba (?). I´ve seen her in some cartoons so I assume this book is based on cartoon.
Here are cover of the book and two pages...

Yep, that's not a comic but a book that's a tie-in with the cartoonseries. All the illustratoins (at least on your pictures) are straight from the cartoons, hence the much lower quality. But a nice thing to have, from the heydays (spelling?) of Smurf madness.

Yep that book is based on the tv-series
the dutch version is named DE VALSE SMURF.
I actually have it on video
and the dutch name of the witch is AGATHA.
and the english name is hogatha
by the way does anybody know if that witch is created by peyo or not. :?

IIRC, she is not from the original comics. However, certainly in the early years of the cartoons, new characters had to be approved by Peyo, if he didn't design them himself. I guess he didn't design this one, but he certainly new about it and approved it (as far as he could care, I have to say that after a few years, the cartoons for him were mainly a cash cow...)

But why replace Gargamel with Hogatha in this story?
There´s no logic in this cartoon. She transformed to smurf, while she should be transformed to Smurfette, right?

At some times, they were churning out new Smurf cartoons, and the stories weren't always that good thought out (I guess the writing staff was a lot smaller than on the Simpsons or so!). You are right, it is illogical that they have changed Gargamel to a witch, but it is logical that she turns into a Smurf and not a Smurfette, as a new Smurf wouldn't arouse suspicion (noone can see if you are Smurf 100 or Smurf 101), but the difference between 1 or 2 Smurfettes would be quite obvious...

Yep, you´re right. It wouldn´t be easy to sneak into smurf village disguised as Smurfette :)

Thanks for the info everyone :D :D.

THE episode "the fake smurf"was actually produced quickly after hogatha's first appearance so that's maybe why they have repleased gargamel for her. at the beginning she also says that she want to have revange after what they have done to her in the episode Bewitched, Bothered, And Besmurfed.
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

The Fake Smurf is on Volume Three of the Australian dvds. I find that change interesting. It's the same story as the Alien Smurf book isn't it? With Gargamel instead of Hogatha. My books have now been stored away.

Brad.
