Hi All,

my friend at work (who also collects smurfs) was having a clear out and came across an old 'Look-in' comic (popular in the UK in the 70s). He brought it in for me as it had a smurf/national garage promotion on the back page. I've scanned it and linked it to my website. You can find it here:

Check out the yellow/blue/white colours on the smurf running with the petrol pump at the bottom: as said before it explains the UK yellow variations...

yup, well national garages were yellow/blue & White so I guess smurfs fitted quite nicely with thier colour scheme Martin :)

I didn't explain myself well: the yellow colours were introduced specifically to match the National colours. This is the first time I have seen a smurf with a yellow petrol pump-it ties what was previously a theory nicely together!!
