Those are enormous flowers, Norma

And maybe papa just wanted to take a swim and shaved his beard for the occassion

The ice cream cone is a great touch (or did he come that way?!)

He's very cute even if he's got a mixed personality

Very nice Dahlias, Norma.
Do you have to take them indoors during winter where you live?
Where I live we have to store them in the celler every year.
/André
PS. The smurf is lovely.

Thanks! Staci, yes he did come with the ice cream cone, it looks like one of those yummy soft serve twist cones to me! My neighbor must really love me as she lugged it all around the flea mkt. with her. It's very heavy, I think it's made out of cement!
Andre, yes I do have to dig them up in the fall and store them over the winter. I stored 8 boxes full, and that was after giving away many of the tubers last year. I gave away all of the cactus flowering, pompom, and small flowering ones and only kept the dinnerplates. I like the dinnerplates the best!

Hey Stampysmurf,
I like your garden Papa Smurf. He looks like a young version of Papa Smurf. Congrats on getting him! I'm not into flowers but I've never
seen one that big.

interesting to see your smurf, I have one like this but he is made out of a chalkware material not suitable for outdoors at all!!
