Hiya guys :hiya: !!!

Every Wednesday eve, we are getting a local newspaper from our town, free of charge. I dare say, that I always skim read all the ads for fleamarkets or interesting houseyard sells. However, yesterday turned out to be a remarkable day, since I came across one ad from a seller, who is from a neighbour city, just four kilometers (or two train stations) away from my place, who wanted to sell all her smurfs and surprise egg figures. :D So gave her a call asking her, if I could come over on Friday, so that I might take a look at her smurfs. I also asked her, if they are supposed to be sold altogether or if they are sold individually. She replied that each of her ( she has a total number of two -hundred and sixteen/216!!! smurfs) smurf was just 2 Euro (despite the fact that some of them were more valuable in the DSK) and I might pick up, just as many as I pleased. :D Finally, we agreed on meeting each other on Friday afternoon at 3pm.

I sincerely hope to find some really neat and rare cuties, I'm still missing in my basic collection and/or some very interesting variations.

Please cross my fingers for me. :fingers:

I promise to post some pics by Monday.

Oh no, I'm feeling tremendously guilty now. :(

Big  mate, there must be some great yard sales in your area. I pray that you happen to find a huge one, so that you'll be able to pick up some cuties for bargain prices.

:D Nah don't feel guilty, the yardsales over here are mainly full of junk. I have never seen anything smurflike in a yardsale since the 80's. :-?

@Gerda: I wish, I was able to grab them all, but I still need to save up money for my most desirable fleamarket in late September, Blue Paradise and the Collectors Fair in November.

I always check out our adverts in the newspaper too but people only ever sell Lego, Playmo & Diddl stuff - never smurfs :(

Good luck tomorrow and hope you find some of the Smurfs you need.
216 Smurfs and to think there won't be one there that you would need?
What are the odds in that?

Good luck, Dom :D Can't wait to see what you find

I'll probably give the 127 yard sale a miss this year (the first time since I moved over here), but I am planning on visiting one or more huge fleamarkets in a few weeks, on which smurfs have been sighted :-D

I will definitely try to get a discount. It surely depends on the total number and how many are really interesting. :D

that is really great news Dominique! I hope they have plenty of smurfs that you need. Look forward to hearing about what you find. And the sellers might just want to get rid of all of the smurfs in one go (sounds like it if they are selling them for 2 euro each) so they might take an offer for the whole lot if there are plenty that you need. Wishing you all the luck!

Hi guys,

I'm sure this will be my longest pic show ever. :D But I'm giving it a start and a full report. :D

I arrived at the flat of that lady, who was just about the same age as my parents on Friday afternoon. When I asked her, if she had collected them, she told me that those smurfs belonged to her son, who had become unemployed, when Nokia closed the factory the other year and outsourced it to Roumania. :(

He was now forty and he hasn't found a new job, yet. :(

The smurfs were located in four shelves, two of them were located in her living room and the others in her sleeping room.

I carefully examined the smurfs and went home, with these cuties for 130 €. :D (I dare say that I felt pity for her son and thus I couldn't bring myself up to pay less than the sum.) Since I had already the others, I decided not to buy the whole lot, so that I might save the rest for other upcoming fleamarkets etc. I'm very happy to have found some very nice smurf variants, I wouldn't have expected to own at all, e.g. chef with red sauce, black lantern, the flesh fake. I dare say that I picked up my third doctor yellow lamp, just because he has a black dot, which sets him apart from the others.

I eventually noticed that I still miss twenty-six normals (incl. history smurfs/specials and Xmas smurfs) and nineteen supers to complete my basics. :D

Please bear with me. Hope you like the pics though. :D
