Blue Cavern

I've helped out Steve with a payment to a guy in Germany & the item that Steve bought arrived here yesterday in an enormous box!! Steve has let me open it up before sending it on to him so I though I'd share some pictures of what is inside along with what I have.

Seeing both of these together isn't something that happens often
Steve's one has the sign with it but mine has to settle with a German flag at the moment although I've got a European flag (blue with yellow stars) on the way to replace it. Another thing that's interesting is that mine has painted eyes but the Papa seems to have airbrushed eyes.



For those who haven't seen one of these before, they used to stand in shop doorways or in the shops themselves to advertise smurfs. They weigh around 12kg & are 1 meter (about 40 inches) tall.

Once upon a time me and Staci almost got an Astro but the thought of doing a jail term in Belgium put us off

I thought about telling Steve the box never arrived but the thought of Steve standing on my doorstep with steam coming out of his ears & him strangling me to death with hula hoops changed my mind Apart from anything else, he's a smurfy friend so I wouldn't do something like that

Sorry for that short outburst, but I am SOOOOO happy that I finally got one of these, I really really wanted one when I saw one at the first Smurfy Passion I went to in Belgium...THANK YOU so much Tojo for helping me out..I really really appreciate it

I think so too but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford a Papa to go with my normal one. If it hadn't been for Dyar's visit to Germany I would never have been offered him at the toy shop which was closing down (at a stupendously cheap price too!!!!!!!!!) so I am eternally grateful to him for making me drag him to Friedberg

Steve knows that I'm very happy to help him out with getting this incredible smurf as I have also been with the other auctions & buys too

Being a member of this forum is just great. We all help each other with finding the smurfs that we want.
