Hi All,

I won the german bottle keyring the other week..I was very happy and asked for the sellers bank account details so that I could get the money transfered (thanks Tojo) :)

Well, after several days he sent me his bank account details minus his name..which the transfer requires.

He then sent me an email saying 'do you still want the smurf or not'...I said of course, but I need your name..I heard nothing...I sent another email...again nothing!

It's been over 2 weeks now since I won and I know they are going to give me bad feedback for something that isn't my fault..I keep asking for their details..I just don't know what to do next :banghead: :( :-?

Steve,
is the name not on the invoice, ebay sent you? Oftentimes you find it on there :D

Other than that, if they are not responding, I am not sure what else you can do :-?

Report them to ebay and say that you're afraid of negative feedback in retaliation. There must be some rules against this surely? :x

Hi Steve,

It says on ebay that if you are unable to get a response from somebody you have a transaction with via email, then you can ''request their contact information'' which will include their name and telephone number.

I don't know if this is just ebay.uk or it applies to all of ebay :-?

With this in mind, Steve, I would definitely contact Ebay. I know you probably don't need the hussle but I can't see any other way, mate! Good luck! :D

I had a similar problem with a German seller :bogroll: :flush: who didn't know what IBAN was and sent me the domestic bank acccount number, then when I asked for IBAN she left me a negative feedback (the only one I have) for an item worth 1 euro. I obviously left a negative for her too (since she is a seller a negative does more harm than for a buyer).
So for you it could turn out to be a problem too.
As far as bank transfers are concerned, since I worked for an Italian bank I can tell that at least in Italy the IBAN always has priority if the name is different from the one on the records, so many transfers go through even with the uncorrect name on them (sometimes applying some extra fees). But of course if the amount is high and there is a chance to get a name from ebay or by directy contacting the bank explaining them the problem, you'd better not take the risk.

Cheers Paolo...I think it's just their domestic bank account and not IBAN, but it could be..I don't generally do IBAN as it costs so much over here in the UK
