Smurf fair - newbie questions

I've been a bit shy about asking this but then I thought, why? I would like to go to the Smurf fair in October and was wondering who else was going. I haven't been anywhere for years and have lost my confidence a bit in travelling solo. Being someone who likes to plan ahead for things like this, I was wondering:
How do you get there?
Do you stay overnight somewhere?
Do you need to book up now, especially as it's the 50th this year?
Who's going?
Who can I travel with, please?
I've already told Mum the dates so that's my dog sitters sorted out!

Plus they are travelling to Australia, Taiwan & China this year so I think they can let me have Brussels!

Hilary, you will have an
awesome time! The sisters put on a great fair. Dyar and I have talked about going this year too especially since it's the 50th anniversary. The closer it gets to October though, everyone will be posting where they are staying, meeting places, etc. Check out the Smurf Fairs section just to see previous year threads too. Hopefully I'll get to meet you and Duckie if everything works out

Firstly, great to hear that you are planning on going Hilary and Sharon, I can guarantee you will both love it!!!
Stace, I will be keeping my fingers crossed you and Dyar make it again, that would be FANTASTIC.
At the moment, I have every intention on being there so..........
To answer some of your questions Hilary, in the past I have travelled by train and also had a few car trips. With it being in Brussels, it does make the travelling much easier, especially with the Eurostar. Car trips are always so much fun though because of the smurfy gossip on the way, plus Dragon's super duper driving.
As Stace mentioned, there will be lots of info much nearer the fair but this is the best place to find out what is going on as Michelle & Veronique who organise the Brussels fair and Xavier who organises the Passion are all members here and will post as soon as they have any info.

Thanks, Rachel.

Getting very excited now. I live very near Harwich if anyone want to take the boat from there. If not, maybe Eurostar. Or the car... Time will tell!

Have they got chocolate on them?

Actually, I think they're Dutch. They're the waffle type biscuits you can buy hot in the markets over there. I can't get enough of them! But don't worry Sharon, I shall get some chocolate chip cookies in for you and Denise.
