shipping from Germany to Italy

A seller from Germany is asking me to pay 12.50 euros for shipping an item that fits inside a regular envelope and weights close to nothing (it's one of the ferrero kinder puzzles).
Does any of our forum members from Germany know what's the cheapest rate for an international registered letter? Thank you.

Hi Paolo,

according to my German Post broschure, a normal letter from Germany to Italy costs €0.70 (70 cents). Registered post (Einschreiben) costs an extra €2.05 so the total cost shouldn't be more than €2.75

I hope that helps.

Thank you.
I sent the seller an e-mail offering at most 5 or 6 euros for a registered letter and bubblewrap envelope (and it's still a lot).
Now he or she is saying that only ships with insurance.
I replied I don't want to pay for insurance (there is no need to pay for that, it's a waste of money) since registered is enough.
Let's see what happens.
