I have a feeling some chinese doesn't know how to write China, and ended up writing "Made in Chian" in the Hallowen smurfs... either that or I need to learn where Chian is!

20541 - Dracula, 20545 - Grim Reaper and 20547 - Witch.
I'm assuming all the others made in china are the same.

Oh mine do not either...I have "Made In Germany"....where did you get these Sandra? I am hoping they are not fakes but I think that Hong Kong ebay sellers are selling fakes but why would they spell "China" wrong???

Maybe have no idea where the guy got them from, I bought them from QXL.
If they're fakes, then they're pretty good ones. Another question would be, why make fakes of new smurfs that can still be bought in stores?
By the way, they still have the Schleich sticker attached to them, so unless the stickers are also being faked, I would consider them not fakes.
As far as Hong Kong, well it became part of China back in 97, so thecnicaly, made in china can include HK...

wow, ive been wondering the same thing, if they were fake, and I think we got the answer... schleich would never let an error like this happen, they verify things more than twice to be sure they are perfect, thats why they got so many mold and if one of them is wrong, they just stop using it.

Sandra, I am not sure if they are fakes or not, but the ones I have seen so far have the Made in Germany markings (only have one set though, so hopefully somebody with more sets can check all of theirs)
However, we have seen the Halloween smurfs sell on ebay for very very little money and they all came from hongkong with the sticker still on...
Like I said, I am not saying they are fakes but I have been wondering why the sellers from HongKong have been selling the set for under $10.00
Here is one of the auctions I am talking about

for the schleich sticker, it is really easy to get some, I contacted a toyshop near my house and they can sell me stickers as much as I want for 5cents each so thats not a big deal!!

Was looking very closely at the stikers and I'm starting to agree that they may be "fakes".
Stikers are 1) very white - the franskenstein I bought at the store has a yellowich stiker. 2) they seem printed 3) the blue round CE is a deeper color and goes over the numbers of the bar code.
Still the smurfs are pretty good quality, and in all matters look & feel very original.
Could it be, that this was a "to be destroyed" production, after the aboved mentioned error was discovered. And some smart ass got a hand in some boxes, printed the stickers out, and is now selling them as originals?
Here's the picture of the sticker attached to the dracula and the good one from the Trainer smurf with a Made in China sticker for comparison.
PS - After checking the stickers and comparing to those on that ebay link, I would have to say, they look to have the same bad sticker attached.

I have been checking last sets of smurf, and I have seen two different markings: the new smurfs to set of football are marked Schleich Germany, Peyo CE made in China...But Halloween and indian smurfs are marked Schleich Germany, Peyo CE made in Germany...
That is correct, Joaquin. I have 4 sets of the Halloweens and all have the Germany marking and the year before (football) has China. The ebay auctions from HK are definitely fakes though -- since they are so cheap, I wonder if someone (or me lol) should get a set to compare. I know the Easter fakes and Easter real are easy to see the difference when put together but if the fakes are on their own, they look and feel real (at least to me).

Hi Sandra,
Mine are also made in Germany. It's hard to tell from the photo but I think your Dracula's cape looks a slightly different shape too
Would be good to see the two sets together and compare

Sorry, just catching up with this topic.
To me they look like fakes. I have seen them being sold cheap but hadn't really looked into it but having seen the different markings, epsecially with the spelling mistake and the seller also selling some other smurfs that I have aslo supsected as fakes for a while, I am faily convonced these are dubious.
Looking closely at the pics, some of he colours are blantly wrong too.
I have taken the plunge and bought a set of the halloween and have bid on the other set.
Once they arrive I can do a good comparison.

I have bid on a set too so I guess we will all see when they arrive if they are the same as Sandra's....I am hoping they are as I do like the fakes especially ones that can be easily identified by markings or something other.

Not sure how many more are interested in those fakes (I have a bid out, too..and I know of at least one more person who was interested) but there are different sellers selling them for different prices...
I guess, it might be interesting to compare the different ones....
