Muster Markings

I remembered the issue of the Muster markings being discussed in the SCCI newsletters and got them out to see what I could find. Suzanne must have contacted Schleich as she had a direct quote from the factory in the newsletter. The mark is their "control mark" and a few pieces are chosen by the person who looks after production. He picks a few of the figures from the new ones and if they are okay, he "brands" them with the mark.

If the control person chooses a few pieces from the batches of Smurfs, I think this would explain why more than one of each piece has shown up with the Muster mark.

I would have preferred to have scanned the article in and posted it, but it is copywrited.

See you next Wednesday Attom! It is too bad we didn't meet sooner. My daughter went to U of T Erindale for 3 years and just graduated in June. We were out in Toronto a number of times. Make sure you check out the toy show that runs in late October. Last time I was there, there was a German seller (lives in Toronto) that had lots of Smurfs, but nothing I needed. If I can remember the name of the show/date I will let you know (next Wednesday, of course).

I have found another one to add to this muster marking list :woohoo: I have been cataloguing the markings on my smurfs this past week. Well, I have a MUSTER!!! It is the Smurfette with Comb and Mirror (20182). I know I got her for a normal price and I'm sure the seller had no clue either. I never even looked at the markings until now. I just checked my records and I won this in a lot of 12 smurfettes on 11/5/03 for $31!!!!!! So I've had a muster for over 2 years and had no clue :o :D

:haha:

I'd love one muster in my collection.

If dreams come true it would be bookworm smurf. But maybe such a thing does not exsist :(
