I am hoping to find out if anyone knows who made this coin bank that was sold in Australia back when BP Australia was selling around 1979 through to 1982.

It has the markings © Peyo SEPP - BP Aust 80 but no markings of the actual ceramic maker. I have also never seen this in any BP Australia catalogues, which makes me think it was not authorised.

Any information would be much appreciated.

I have never seen this one before. The looks of it (a combination between a smurf and a gnome) make me think it might not be officially licenses as well

Yes I agree Maureen, it doesn’t look quite right.

The interesting thing there are at least three other ceramic smurf coin banks, made like this but they are very very rare. Also the fact there is no ceramic maker’s mark on them, makes me feel these were not licensed.

The others include a smurf sitting on a wooden barrel and Clown smurf sitting on a ball.
