I have 2 red material china ce germany André, (one came with the german Displaybox)
Lia,

did you get more Chinamarked ones with that display?

Was it the display on the picture?

Schleich used the same Picture for these smurfs in the catalogues all the way to 2001 so it is hard to say when they started with the Chinamarked ones.
This was the display, with 3 ce germany china smurfs, 2 smurfs with ce portugal and one ce china

Thanks Lia

Another thing regarding the years for these and articlenumbers.

First the display was sold with number 51900, then with 52900?? and when they started again with it in 1992 it still had the same displaybox and same articlenumber 51900. ( 52900 could have been a Printing error in 1986 catalogue???)

In 1994 they changed the box to the design Lia has on her box and then it got the number 51950 in the catalogues.

But suddenly the last year it was sold in 2001 both the easterdisplay and the corded smurfs got new articlenumbers. So then it got number 51952.

I do not know the exact years for when they were sold in the US but I would guess 1981/82- 1985. :-? :D

I do not think any of the christmassmurfs with cords were sold between 1987 and 1991.

I do not know how they got the years for these in the new catalogue by Gian&Davi but it seems they just copied the same years as written in the DSK 4??

Maybe they were sold in other ways??? :-?

Here's a picture in colour from the forum gallery of the Christmas display shown in the the SCCI letter. Thought I would add it here.

Thanks for sharing this, Tommo. The picture looks much better in colour than photocopied.

I still need to get two more Christmas smurfs perhaps this year I will be inspired to get them

I received a Praying smurf in white pvc with painted red pjs. Does anyone else have this one or just the red pvc? :? I've found some more information about it here:

I just have one and it is made out of red pvc material. It looks genuine enough, as there is hole between the neck and arms. Are the markings clear to read or blurry?

Looks like your luck with your smurf purchases continue

Hi Kath,
yes, the markings look good, seams in the right places, injection point in the right place and nice wide head. Looking at it I did doubt for a second my red pvc one without the cord :) , but as you said the hole between the hands an neck is the obvious indicator. Just need to get the red pvc version with the cord now :)
Cheers, Tommo

Yes, Kath is right : I have the fake white raw and there is no hole between the hands and the neck on this one.
I see you were very busy during Christmas... with smurfs !

Just to follow up on André's question about the Smurfette carols HK cavity 4, I've got this and the Hong Kong is printed over the printed Portugal. :D Another thing is that the Wreath that André thought had a mustard dot does indeed come with this variation. I've got this one and also Smurf with tree with mustard dot marking. The skin is the lighter variation on these ones. I've also seen Smurf with Gift with a mustard dot. Anyone seen any others? Does anyone have any of the ones without cords which would have been sold by Maia Borges in 1985? I've got both Praying, Wreath and Smurfette Candy Cane. I've seen others, but the condition wasn't good.
Cheers, Tommo

I received this one yesterday: Hong Kong Smurfette Caroler. The unusual thing about this one is that there is no hole in the top of the head for the eyelet.

Schleich Portugal 1981 peyo 3
I hope you can see the dot and smearing

Wow!

Never seen this before Andreas!

I got the impression that the made in Portugal releases which made for the American market never got the mustard dot ……the ones that did like this one and Tommo’s thanksgiving turkey must be incredibly rare….

Best wishes

Martin
