Regarding the St Patrick-smurf.

The green variant was the first one Martin. Sold in the US as a seasonal figurine, #6580, already 1982/1983. The black colour was first released in 1986, when shown in catalogue, then with red hatband. The red hatband was removed in 1989. :-D

And then you get the CE, und so weiter!!

Do you think there could be any earlier one getting the made in Portugal marking?? Many of the seasonalfigurines were made in Portugal also for the US-market!

For example the easter bunnies are dated 1981, but I am sure if that is correct, since it says 1982 on them. But have you noticed that the 2 have been changed on those?? Also is hard to say if HK or portugal were first??? But I think the easterbunnies sold in the US were the HK-marked ones??? :-?

Do you have more candidates??

The thing with the St Patrick smurf is that we can date that one to 1982 with Portugal-markings. As far as I know there are no other green st patrick smurfs without that marking.

So then we know for sure that in 1982 made in portugal-smurfs existed.

But maybe there could have been earlier ones??? :-?

In the beginning they only painted the smurfs delivered from Germany in Victor Maias factory.
