I never saw a box ( never saw this item anyway)but I suppose, if there is a BP box, why not a Shell box?
Must be incredible to have such a box!

Lia,

The national-smurf is on a playsetbox and in the first catalogues displayed with the playset 6. But it was only sold in the special-super-box so it could be both ways I suppose??

and congratulations to your victory over Denmark in the world cup. :D

At the same time I would also like to congrat Denmark for scoring their first goal in the World cup. :o   What? :-?

Thank you André!
Poor Poulsen....
We can play much better then this afternoons match, but the first victory is there!
I can tell you that almost the entire nation is covered in orange.

Yes, I suppose, you`re right about the box.
I wonder if anyone has it, I know a lot of collections and collectors, but never saw it.

I received today the nice box with the National smurf on it! :D

I read this post and noticed that the "normal" version box has a window, but my normal version has the same backside as the National, so..there are more boxes possible

That is a great box Lia.

does it have the assemblyinstructions on the other side?

I do not have all the different backsides of the boxes eventhough I have many variations. For some of them it could be many?? But on the other hand it seems they only changed some of them??

I do not Think I have seen a well or a snailcarriage without window on the back but I am not sure.

It could be that they added the window sometime between the snailcarriage and forklift??

Does anybody have a well or a snailcarriage box without window?

This is the other side ( but you showed a similar one in your post before)

I noticed that also Lia.

But the reason I asked is that I think that box was made exactly the same time as the BP station box. The sides are all the same. :D

So just after they changed the first box.

:D

The BP box is the same as yours and that is probably why yours do not have the articlenumber under. That box was probably made in 1980. But they canged the front for the BP and also they added on your box that a attendantsmurf is not inside.

There cound be many of those boxes if you go by the backside but I do not Think they changed them every year. But for this playset we know the backside could say 6 playsets available, 8 playsets available and most likely also 10 playsets available. So that means you could buy 3 different ones with the same front? Maybe also one saying 9 playsets available.

I will explain which backsides are possible on these boxes.

Here you have the 10 playsets in the first variations of the boxes.

On the backside you can see how they were sold and this is a 100% match with the catalogues.

All boxes were large boxes except garden playset and snail carriage.

The garden playset was sold in 1977 and had this backside.

Only this playset can have this.

But the garden playset can actually in theory have all other backsidevariations. :D But most likely not. Just like today they probably only changed the box about 3 times after this and depending on which year they made the change they added the backside used at that year then. :-D

In 1978 they added 3 more playsets and then it said on the backside that 4 playsets were available.

The garden playset was changed and got a number on the front, 1. And then also the same backside as these.

Playset 2 and 3 was changed to smaller boxes already the first year and that is why the larger boxes are so rare. And therefore you can also find the smaller boxes with the same backside that was used this year.

Playsets 5 and 6 was added in 1979 and the first variations of them says that 6 playsets were available that year.

Just as your box Lia, they changed the front of the petrolstation already the first year, so they got the correct attendant( not National emblem) and also correct stand. They also added that no smurf was inside.

I am not sure if any of the 4 playsets made Before this was changed this year and I have not seen any of them with this backside. But all 4 potentially could have this backside?? :-?

In 1980 they added the window on the backside of the boxes. At least I Think so, since I so far have not seen any of these without the window?? :-?

Anyway it now says there are 8 playsets available. Could be that these first was sold without the window and that they added the window the year after??

I Think all of the playsets made Before this can be found with this backside. Probably because they wanted to add the window to all playsets.

Closeup on that backside since it is hard to see on the Picture. :D

In 1981 Schleich did not sold any new playset, but in 1982 the forklift was added. First sold in this box with a backside saying 9 playsets are available. It was also sold with the brown chain in the beginning.

I Think this is the only playset with this backside and no of the older ones got changed this year.

Notice also that they removed the Dutch languages from the backside on this box and that could have to do with that the smurfs was no longer part of the BP promotion BP Holland started many years before???

I am not sure if there is a playset 10 box without English on the front??? So it could be an earlier one, but I do not Think so.

Many of the older boxes got this backside also in the older box without English on the front.

After 1983 all new boxes were made with English on the front like playset10. And the backside looked the same on all of them. But I have never seen playset 3, gate, or playset 6, petrolstation in this box.

Since they most likely used all the boxes they already had first some of these are hard to find.

And alot of these accessories are also very different inside compared to the early ones. :-D
