This should be a fun competition.
As we all know, each year, Schleich discontinues about 8 of the current range smurfs. So far, the information hasn't been made public yet, but I expect it any day now.

Until then, I thought we run a competition in which every member can guess which ones will be discontinued. The competition will stop as soon as the announcement is made. The member who guess the most correct will win the prize.

If one member guess all correctly, the member will win the full range of the new 2009 smurf and a limited smuf collector's postcard. The postcard is courtesty of Frank Oswald of Gascher's. Thank you Frank for this offer

If more than one member guesses all the smurfs correctly, everybody who does will get a postcard from Gascher's, and we will put the names in a pool to determine who will win the grand prize of the 2009 smurfs.

If none of the participants guesses all the smurfs, the one with the most correct smurfs will get his pick of three of the new 2009 smurfs

I'm guessing all the 2008 smurfs because they're for the 50th anniversary and not forever.

I think a lot of us are expected the anniversary set to go, or at least the ones that directly have 50th anniversary on them. But I'm going to go against this, my reason being the numbers for the 2009 smurfs continue from the anniversary set (20709-20716) instead of being numbered back at the Indian set before the jump 20556. I would have thought the jump in numbers would have suggested the anniversary smurfs to be a special set and discontinued after the anniversary year. But as the 2009 smurfs continue the new numbers following from the anniversary set, I think they'll stick around at least for an extra year. So there is something to think about.

What would be brilliant is if they kept all 50 and added 50 more.. so there were 100 in the set to celebrate the release of the film! How good would that be! So, they would have the 8 new ones, plus 42 old ones to come out of retirement. That would be sweet.

I go for - Judo Smurf after that I have to think

I highly believe that these smurfs will be discontinued, for I haven't seen any of them within the last five to six months in any toy-shop nearby.
