Just received the 2017 movie smurfs, item numbers 20800, 20801, 20802 and 20803. Like the Decade box sets these come in display like boxes. Do you think it is ok if I take them out of their boxes to display?

I am not a big fan of displaying smurfs in boxes or with their tags on, so I would prefer to display them in my own unique way. I would like to know what others have done.

Hi Kath,
I've kept mine in the boxes, but will get around to buying another set of each to have loose. I did the same with the decade boxes.
Cheers,
Tommo

Hi Tommo
Thanks for this information.

With the decade box sets I took them out of the boxes but kept the boxes. Most likely I will do the same. I feel they are the best movie ones so far, though some people have found them to be quite expensive. By the way what are your thoughts on them?

Cheers

Hi Kath,
I like them, as I like next years smurfs. My problem is with the way that they were marketed. The way to get all of them you ended up with duplicates as several smurfs were repeated in some boxes and others not. This was a deliberate decision which was a bit exploitative.

Hi Tommo

I agree the way they sold the movie sets was an interesting ploy by Schleich and I am not sure if I like this way of selling smurfs either.

I decided I want nothing to do with doubles, so I will not be getting these, unless I find them discounted at 50% or at a garage sale or something... I refuse to pay extra! Rather not have them.

I have seen some people selling their doubles on eBay which I thought was interesting. I wonder if Schleich will ever sell these smurfs as individual smurfs.
